The after Hours trading price of the stock. So GME closed at 197 but up to 220 or so now.....does that mean if nothing changes between now and opening bell tomorrow the stock will open at 220 or is it entirely separate but gives an indication as to how the market will go on opening?

Yes the price continues from After Hours to Premarket to open...

More of an indication but not always a good one.

Volume falls massively for pre market and after market trading, it's also not as affected by factors such as the overall market measures i.e. S&P500 (which opens at 14:30 our time) so on open things can change drastically

What people are saying isn't correct. What started the redditor investing in gamestop was he felt it was undervalued. The short squeeze idea came later

This isn't true again, a stocks gain in a day is measured from 9.30 - 4pm (EST).

Stock can be up 5% in pre market and open -5%.

Germans bought it at 350$ this morning and bought the price upto to $500 premarket so doubt they will be selling in the morning. They will be buying more to lower their average cost.

The Reddit link explained it well for me.

I spotted New Concept Energy going up and up today. Got in at 7 and out at 9 when there was pullback.

Just looked at the closing price and its $25! Up from $2.30 this morning! Missed the boat there!

Word on Reddit is Robinhood is allowing buys tomorrow on GME, if that’s the case we may just be in the money.

If its true that Citadel et al reloaded their shorts during todays no buy shenanigans then this might be too late

Robinhood lifting it's buy ban is driving this way up in after hours trading.

The price paid on open (9.30) is the first price of the day. A stock won't open at the last after market price paid, it will open at the first open price paid.

Robinhood executes transactions through Citadel, apparently.

Citadel are the ones who backed Melvin Capital for $2.75B, which evaporated almost instantly.

What we saw today is literal market manipulation by a company that directly works with a party of interest.

And yet, GME survived this massive short attack. Bodes well for tomorrow. (I sold 95% of my position yesterday, and won't be buying in again. What I've left in is for fun. This is not advice to buy.)

But is there not still a substantial amount of uncovered shorts ? The rise in price impacts them no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 887 ✭✭✭jams100

Can I suggest we move this whole Gme, amc, nakd stuff into the shorted thread or a new thread ?

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=116088751

I think this whole gamestop thing is going to keep going on...this thread used to have some good discussion and new stocks to look at, now its just page after page of what price is gme this second.
Just my own thoughts anyway :)

There could still be a lot of uncovered shorts, hopefully there is but it sounds like Citadel have extended out their period for when their shorts would be due which means the real criminals in all this may not receive any of the pain if it really does come tomorrow.

So as I understand it Robinhood was going to be IPO'd soon.

After stopping buying GME/AMC today I can see loads of users leaving them.... meaning no point in ipo??
