what price would a one with suspension working go for ? If it cost more than that to fix then that was likely their sums ..... so unless you are a jag fan and there's a few out there

you could spend another 2500 fixing the thing and its not a 5k car when you're done. Could get lucky and walk away with 1000 euro in bills , making it a 3.5k car and in that case its good value, but its a dice roll.

It seems to me that 2009-2012 barges are priced a lot higher than 2005-2008 cars were 3-4 years ago.

Are barge prices not coming down as much as they used to, particularly post-2008 tax change?

Does this mean that 2008 is the sweet spot and future barge deals will be harder to find?

Anything that is maybe 750 to tax wont drop in price like the 1809 tax barges of old.

theres also a serious lack of any 09-12 cars as the economy was on its knees, the luxobarge sector and large SUV's were hard hit in those times.

But were not UK second hand ones imported to fill the gap.

    Original Irish, 55k miles, 3.7 V8 and newly NCT'd - €4995

Could be a nice car for the money, ticks a lot of boxes.

Was the mileage always that low?
I remember this car on here before but thought maybe slightly more miles.

I’m not sure, maybe the mileage was originally advertised in km? It’s been the same dealer selling it for years anyway

Grand yoke and it makes perfect sense, it's quattro and there's a forecast of snow ;-)
    Maximum power - Output - Horsepower : 280 PS or 276 bhp or 206 kW @ 6000 rpm
    Maximum torque : 360 Nm or 265 lb.ft @ 3750 rpm
Enough power to move the chassis long respectably enough I guess. Normally aspirated so no turbo or sensors to go wrong there.
Fuel economy is listed as 24 mpg which is excellent.
What's the weak points on the car? Suspension? V8 is ok? Probably has easily / cheaply upgraded coilpacks.

Looks to be in great nick but I think spec looks pretty tame for one of those.

2008 A8 LWB for a sweet €4500. Nice spec too.

Mileage slightly high and quite a few previous onwers.

I’d tread very carefully with that

Indeed, Andrew Norman must be a very popular name in Romania.

I think sunroof and reverse camera are about the only things above basic spec on that.

Supercharged Vogue SE with 190k miles for €6500

You'd want some set of cojones

Very deep pockets too. Is that not mad money for what it is though? I thought it would be worth around half that given the age, mileage and annual tax bill?

Unsellable really unless it's fit for export IMO.
Seems really well looked after to be fair. There's a defender alongside it in one of the pics.

    Dare I suggest this? :pac:

Theres something strangely alluring about it. Surprisingly enough its an original Irish car too

That might not be 4WD
If it's not it'd be less gutless I suppose :pac:
Don't think I've ever seen one in Ireland.

There's an 03 Jap import one for sale in the UK privately........ asking £9250 on UK plates with MOT
    https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009073407047

the yoke in Ireland isn't too badly priced if the €333 tax is suitable.
