This video was upped on YT and was removed as it supposedly broke YT rules, it didn't, it was censorship pure and simple. Anyway a way was found around it.

And yet we have the woman Lauren Bobbet who told Beto "Hell No you are not getting our guns !" Voted into Congress and carrying her Glock in Congress to piss off Pelosi and the antis .As well as DC being one of the still most gun banned and violent cities in the US,wouldn't blame her.

What guns are they trying to ban? Just ARs and AKs or what?

EVERYTHING that they can under those very vauge definitions. It would even include Fudd guns that have particular features.IOW any gun that could accept a detachable mag,or mag extension would be fair game. Its the assault weapon ban of the 1990s on steroids.

Annndddd now FB are doing the ground work for proposed legislation.

A NY democratic lawmaker wants to ban the purchase/sale of bulletproof (ridiculous name) vests and other forms of body armor for anyone to own bar LEOs. In a city with a 97% increase in shooting and 44% increase in murders in just the last year, coupled with some of the worst firearm ownership laws in the country, it makes sense to further stop the citizens from protecting themselves even if that protection only comes in the form of an actual "protective shield". IOW passive protection.

Where does FB come into this?

They announced today they are banning all sales of firearm accessories and equipment for "just a few days" but will review it after the 22nd. What accessories could be so dangerous as to merit a ban.

Gun safes, holsters and you guessed it, protective gear such as vests.

I cannot find an answer online so any ideas? Why is the national guard being deployed if its a virtual inauguration and no people can get tickets and are being told to stay away?

If 10,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 turn up will it be ok because its biden?

I imagine due to the recent issues in Capitol Hill. People were allowed storm the Capitol building with weapons. But it happen.
NG were also deployed for BLM in Capitol.

FB doesn’t sell any of those items, and can’t control or prevent the sale of those items.

The NRA has just filed for bankrupcy protection, could be the perfect storm for gun owners in America right about now.

You do see the link i provided where it states:
"We already prohibit ads for weapons, ammunition and weapon enhancements like silencers. But we will now also prohibit ads for accessories such as gun safes, vests and gun holsters in the US," Facebook said.
So yes they allow the advertisement/sale of such items and yes they are preventing the sale of them on FB.

    Some conspiracies just write themselves.

Christopher Stanton Georgia, the bank manager who took pelosi's laptop from the capitol protest, was found dead in his basement by his wife. The coroner says it was suicide, a single gunshot to the chest.

He was looking at a max of 3 months imprisonment and $1000 fine for his part in the protests, but you have to ask why a 53 yr old bank manager facing such a light sentence (at the worst) would top himself.

As i said above some conspiracy theories write themselves.

Son of a state supreme court judge cries in court when faced with possible ten years in jail. Funny part is he is a member of antifa and his Father and him are both registered democrats.

Speaking of antifa i don't see on the news anything about antifa members instigating violence that day, although the news is quick to point the finger at so called right wingers, they are ignoring the amount of antifa members there that were arrested such as john sullivan.

I've linked to the politico "reporting" of the story for two reasons. Firstly so i cannot be accused of spreading "right wing lies" by linking to Fox, OAN, or newsmax, and secondly its funny to me how politico are trying desperately to report on the news while actively working to squash any chance that what they are reporting on is exactly what it is by excusing away the obvious facts.

By the way for anyone saying politico is a central or unbiased news agency, you should read the sh*t storm that is going on within the company as their own eat each other because the management allowed Ben Shapiro to write and have published a piece. Free speech is under attack as any opposing view points are being attacked with the cancel culture.

See its all kicking off in the netherlands. Entire government resigns over child welfare scandal.

Seems to be a placating gesture as the party is most likely to retain it's seats and be the next government, but still, for an entire governmental cabinet to resign! Lessons could be learned here where our ministers don't even have respect for one another let alone the citizens that elect them.

Listen to him curse under his breath.

A chapter 11 is not a biggie, lots of companies do this to restructure and refinace themelves in the USA on a yearly basis.
But the way "Tiny" Mike NYC based anti gun and Trump and vote buying media outlet Blomberg news is writing this, makes it sound that the NRA is penniless and doing a midnight flit out of NY.

Be as it may the NRA needs to do some house cleaning. The LaPierre dynasty must go,as they have been using the NRA as a cash cow for much too long, and doing too much compromising on legislation.

I don't subscribe to that tbh. Whether you believe he stole the election or not there are always troops and protection at each inauguration, granted this one is extreme and the reason for my question relates to the 300% (absolute guess on that figure) increase in protection when there can be no public assembly.

Obama had 6,000 NG in 12, Trump had 8,000 in 2016 Biden has triple the numbers 21,000 now than those two presidents according to Newsweek. Nor did the previous two have to turn the city into "Bagdad on the Delaware" with Green and Red zones either.Esp with Trump and the Leftists went all wobbly and rioted as well at that event...

    To answer your question in a conventional way;
I'd put this down to the typical American overreaction to events AFTER the fact. Same as on 9/11:rolleyes:

    Can congress order the deployment?

I had to look this up and the best answer i could find was the President is in charge of the NG for Wash. DC. So did the President deploy them as an act of good faith or can congress order it, as asked above.?

The chain is Sec of the Defence and the Pentagon, specifically the secretary of the Army that authorises the use and deployment of NG? Pence was consulted about deploying it on the 6th, but it is Chris Miller's directive that activated them.
Both POTUS and VP are able to call out the NG for DC, as it isn't in a state per se. Otherwise, it would have to be the governor of Delaware requesting the call out.
Although that might change under Sniffer Joe and his loon squad wanting to add DC, Honduras, Guam to the Union. Maybe we could convince ol Sniffer to add us to the list, as he is so infatuated with all things Irish. Would solve our gun problems in an instant.:rolleyes:

The link says they are blocking Ads, not blocking the sale. The two aren't the same.

If they stop hosting ads from "Gearfire" (for example), it doesn't stop people going to www.gearfire.com and ordering away. They have no power outside of their domain.
It's a toxic site and people did thinking of it as the extent of the internet.

America is a melting pot of chaos right now. It only takes one or two lunatics to do something extreme.

The guys who brought weapons, petrol bombs etc. Obviously a handful of the crowd that rioted were involved in that, and few would have condoned it. But all it takes is one delusional guy with means to do serious damage.

Completely agree, holding it indoors is behind lock and key makes much more sense. I don't know if there is a lawful or constitutional reason why it is held outside, "under god" or some such BS.

What's the total number of security that will be there for Biden? I mean, if that's only NG. Surely they will also be SS, Police, and other agencies involved.
