They do have smaller 15kg bars, checked the edge for the weight .awesome to know

Lower back has been very sore after deadlifts until it gets a stretch. Only sore in a tight cramped way. Remembered today that foam rolling is a thing... On the case

    Gym 13 10

    Deadlift 3 x 2+2 @ 6 rpe "fairly easy like a warm up weight" try 100kg
Setup on these is getting better but not 100% yet. Belt is pinching annoyingly as well. Hot water bottle time for back though it's only really sore for a short time after lifting. Prob while I get used to it again. I did foam roll again . Coach said i have to do 2+2 to get more practice setting up

    Tempo Bench 3 x 6
    40kg
    Hard but ok

    Assisted Dips or Skulls 2 x 3/fail 8-15
    Skulls 5kgx2 x 12, 12

    Vrt Row 3 x 3/fail 8-15
    =
    Did normal Rows 7.5kg x 12, 12,12

local gym has only ever had 1 other person in there when im there before, today it was mad busy

No they decided that yesterday. Woke at 3am and remembered I had to book gym session and one I normally go to was fully booked. AND SO WAS MY EX-FAITHFUL SAFETY NET.

    Sad times.

    What's 2+2? :o:o (don't say 4!!) Feel like I should know this.

Just starting a tempo bench phase, never tried it before much tbh - my bench is too low as it is without dropping the weight even further (though unlike my squat held up better over lockdown... mainly due to push-ups I think - who knew weighing too much would have its advantages LOL)

Same with bench holding up. Only about 5kg shy if my max after 4/5 weeks back.

Download a metronome app for tempo. It just makes it easier for counting and keeps the tempo constant cos it's too easy to speed it up when it gets a bit heavier.

joiining a closer gym was definitely the best idea ever

    14/10

Split squat (since I wasnt brave enough to try the upside down leg press)
    more of a lunge
    barbell 3x12

    dumbbell flys 10kg 3x10

    plan: push ups
    chose more bench instead ...
    30kg 3x14

    rows 10kg 3x8

    20 mins, job done

  • Posts: 81,309 CMod ✭✭✭✭ Alison Scrawny Yearbook

yesterday was the 15th not the 14th....

    anyway
    16/10

    tempo RDL 50kg 3x6

"any chest exercise" i should prob have done push ups or basically anything else but went mad and did OHP machine
    setting 4, 3x8

"any tricep" skulls yaaaay 5kgx2 3x15

leg extension machine was marked broken :( so i did more lunges
    15kg barbell 3x12

    leg curl
    setting 6 x 12, 10, 13

    nicely sore all over
    that's "optional day 4" done.
i might go mad and go again at the weekend just in case everything closes
    JUST ONE MORE SQUAT AHHHH

i swear if we go into level 5 and the gym closes im buying a barbell
i've nowhere to fit it in this place and i cant buy a rack but still

I got 30kg DBs on Monday. It's completely changed my outlook of training at home.

What a time to be alive.

I actually can't face the dumbbells when they're the main exercise. contrary
found an alternative that's in stock. about to spend a fortune.
once i get shipping confirmation the squat stands will be next.
not gonna be subject to rolling lockdowns anymore

It's all relative, I guess. I mostly had bands and a sandbag last time.

    Having dumbbells feels positively decadent.

I wished I had space for squat rack and platform in my house. I'd have had it set-up the last time! Don't forget to post the pics of your new set-up!
