See no one actually seems to know. Some are saying you can serve without food now in Dublin, legally, and you're saying otherwise.
I wish we could get to the bottom of this!

BringBackMick doesn't know. Lots of people know. :)

Is that actually still true? I think that is no longer the case, might not have been updated but certainly no longer enforced.
It's all so ridiculous. At this stage why is Dublin subjected to this but not Cork?
So "wet" pubs can now open in Dublin if they can serve outside?
That's news to me! Maybe I'll be able to find somewhere tomorrow, I already know of one place where I managed to have pints a couple of weeks ago, but that was a Wednesday so wasn't busy.

No "wet" pubs in Dublin are still not allowed open even outside

    They must serve food.
In Dublin, drink-only or “wet pubs” will remain closed, with pubs that serve food permitted to offer outdoor dining only.

    Dont admissions rise in winter?

Do we have the figures from this time last year?

How much are admission/ICU numbers up on this date last year?

    Excess deaths?

People on here literally suggesting putting out a phase 2 vaccine to the public for a disease that killes about 0.1% of who it infects whom are generally over 80, sums things up.

We need to get a grip

Exactly, by any historic measure, it's not even a minor public health issue. Has been shown to kill those with an average age of 84, that's two years higher than the present average life expectancy in Ireland.

Population of Dublin City proper is only 554,554

In both cases you get figures that either in take in their whole county of Dublin which is roughly 1,173,179 and mostly urban or you get ludicrous definitions of the Greater Dublin Area that are taking in Louth, Kildare, Wicklow etc as a metro area, which they’re not.

The Dublin hospitals probably serve an area of about 1.9m

Cork is about 300,000 urban but those hospitals are serving the county and beyond which is at least 570,000 people. The hospitals service probably up to 1m for advanced & high tech medicine.

The hospital system in Ireland generally is under resourced but the situation in Cork is ludicrous.

A major new public hospital should have been built. It’s been discussed for years but without any progress and in reality was far, far more urgent than the NCH white elephant and now we very may well see why!

They can offload a significant number of cases to the Bons (which is a big private hospital - bigger than any of the other Bons as it’s their HQ), the Mater Private (not that big) and also to the South Infirmary/Victoria which is more focused on elective ENT, eyes and joint surgeries.

So basically it’s going to mean loads of cancelled or very long postponed procedures.

    Yes. Agree .

Non wet pubs are allowed serve alcohol to customers without food, simple.

Walk around Dublin and see the facts rather than posting an article from the IT.

My local area (Kimmage/Rathmines) seems to be very high. Im thinking this is due to the sheer density of the area and the fact so many houses are shared?

Lots of university students I'd imagine?

Show me a rule that it is broken?

I go to pizza place, sit outside and order a beer.

    What is the rule broken?

I for one, would very much welcome a co-ordinated response with Europe. We would be less of an outlier, better for the citizens of this island as a whole.

The health systems in Europe are wildly different from ours in terms of capacity , so that is why we need to have our own independent response to this .

It would just be that in that situation the establishment would be operating as a "wet pub". Which are closed. They need to operate as a restaurant and serve this meal of 9eur to serve you the beer.

It's been the sound of the summer!

Whoever has decided that schools must remain open should hold their hand up so we know who to blame when it’s decided that level 3 isn’t working, and then Later when level 4 isnt working and we eventually admit that we have to close schools to get numbers down.

I would suggest that Anyone receiving the PUP have to homeschool their kids for two weeks, and schools have a lower attendance Made up of frontline workers who have to Work.

Review the numbers after two weeks if it makes a difference, and then all schools close for 2 weeks if not 3 at Halloween.
