8: That was fun! Each part kept having so many moments that won me over. Even the little things like the off-hand
    Romulan
    remarks about the
    Remans

That was an alright episode. I thought the doctor getting lost while stupid was funny. Nice to see another ship design in the background as well. I had to laugh when the Captain asked Marineer to warn to Aliens and then what she done lol. Still might have added a bit to that myself by including maybe the tactical officer not been happy maybe about it. I loved the bit with cleaner lol. The Romulan war Birds were nice to see if a bit silly. A few nice little nods to TNG in it again too.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

That was good fun. Some genuine laughs. Great seeing Q back, even if it was brief.

Stop, I'm picking up Scanning! :D:D

    Gorn wedding?!!

    :D

Some good jokes, not as strong a plot as some earlier episodes...but alright really. All-in-all, with only 2 episodes left they are doing well with this show. Would certainly return for a second season, and I'm actually hoping for one.

Watched episode 2 and yeah, slowly slowly Mariner not annoying'y. The worldly head teaching the bookish newb is a very old cliché but it's being carried off with a degree of skill.

And one thing animation can do that live action Trek simply will never achieve is scale and the exotic. In two episodes I've seen more overtly alien creatures than the entirety of the franchise thus far. Crazy stuff. Only Saru comes close (Quark and Odo to a lesser extent)

My only complaint so far is that it's not that funny in places. Or as funny as it thinks it is. Lots of wry chuckles but nothing majorly hilarious.

Took me longer than two episodes not to hate the character but yeah, it gets better. Last two or three episodes have been much more of an ensemble.

I'm really sad there's only 2 more episodes this season.

It's definitely improved as the season has progressed, but I can't say I find it particularly funny to be honest.

I've watched four episodes - Does Mariner get any less bloody annoying? Her hyperactivity and "always right" approach makes her like a manic version of Burnham. She's almost ruining the show for us.

Unlike some other annoying Star Trek characters, Mariner shows character development as the show progresses. I've found her quite likeable in the more recent episodes with a lot of potential for more development. Reminds me a bit of Julian Bashir who was insufferable when first introduced but grew to be more likeable as the series progressed.

Yeah, early Bashir was a sleaze bag. Took Miles O'brien a couple of seasons to set him right!

I really liked episode 9. There's plenty of valid satire of past Trek movies, and references to small details without being just heavy handed name dropping, and there's even continued character development by Mariner.

BRILLIANT episode 9. Loved it :D

Mariner's character is actually developing in interesting ways, and the send-up of the movies was great. "I may be getting on in years but I've not forgotten how to jet-ski" - or whatever the line was - genuine LOL.

And the over-long shuttle to the ship in space dock. Really well done.

    Top marks.

Loved the way they even sent-up the score!

The dirt specks like on old film was a great touch, hardly noticeable but just catches to eye every now and then. Great episode in what has been a very good first season overall.

I've been enjoying this immensely after being highly skeptical before it came out. I thought episode 9 was fantastic. The movie animation was great, lens flare and all  Would love to see a couple of cameos in future seasons for world building.

Kind of love how they managed to send up a lot of the Trek movies. Loved the lens flare jokes, that had me smiling.
The Mariner character development is still going strong. Wondering if the next episode will round off the season by revealing what scared her away from command. My guess is maybe something during the Dominion War? Would kind of fit the time-scale and DS9 reference earlier.

These people *must* be a completely different group than the live action Trek shows being made. I really get the impression of writers who actually like Star Trek and want to have fun with the lore of the universe we had prior to the Kelvin movies.

I like this Trek show. I hope for more.

    Needs more lens flare. :)

    That was an excellent episode.
Forget Tarantino. Can we get Mariner to write the next Star Trek film?

Great episode. They're really taking the holodeck episode concept which was the weak point of the live action series and turning it into their strong suit. The scene where Boimler finds out about Mariner and Freeman, classic :D

Was thinking didn't Voyager do an episode where there was a holodeck story about the crew that became popular, so looked it up and it was "Worst Case Scenario"

Ah must give that a watch. The immediate thing that jumped to mind when I thought "Voyager and holodeck" were those dodgy Fair Haven and Captain Proton episodes along with some tropical paradise one where Neelix is having a very disturbing foot rub orgasm. The times where it came in useful were some of the Doctor character development episodes.

Some really good parts in that episode but I still thought Mariner was annoying at the beginning but got better and some good character development too the funniest part and the best part were most definitly at the end of this episode do the last two minutes just brilliant.

9: Enjoyed that for the references alone. Think I saw nods to I, III, VI, TNG episodes, DS9 episodes and Generations. Space dock is so cool.

Didn't have a clue what was going on at the start it was an obvious violation of the prime directive.

There's a couple of nods to
Phase II and the Motion Picture. Such as naming the Spock replacement Xon, and the lightning between the nacelles, which is from TMP concept art.

And to the ridicules dune-buggy scene in Nemesis (jet-skis this time), and even the JJ movies with all the lens flair. :D

Honestly I thought the episode was in trouble after that opening. Very poor. But, to be fair, I guess there's just not much time in <25 minutes to do everything exactly right. They squeezed a lot into this episode.

I think Mariner's holodeck persona might have been a Khan reference too.

Hasn't she said previously that Khan is the coolest or best bad guy

A really nice episode. Very entertaining and some good jokes.

You can tell this is a show made by Trek fans.

Credit where it's due.. after a shaky start this show has gotten better by the week. Just watched Ep9 now and it was great, especially the VI movie-title and Spacedock sequence nods :)
