    That isn't really how it works. You see if you were tested you would have been a moron before and after the test. The test doesn't change that at all.

    You say that like you are the public. You may think in your small cluster of looney friends that some huge resistance exists to all this but back in the land of normal people that I know. Most people are happy to be compliant and understand the risks and look on it horror at the people who can't show the decency to act in the best interest of the public health of us all.

    I am the public, and I have no looney friends. I’m speaking here for myself, yes I will wear a mask when in shops etc, but I won’t be restricted to where I can go, how far I can go, and how long I can go for, imaginary restrictions or not.

    We have experienced illness before.
    We have had 6 in ICU before with the same illness.
    We have illnesses that kill way more than Covid.
    Hunger kills way more than Covid. It could easily be solved if the will was there.

    Media hysteria has led people to think that this is some extremely dangerous disease.

    But so far it has only killed a tiny number of people. Most of whom were already fairly close to death already and/or above life expectancy.

    I don’t care about a Mercedes. I’ll have friends over if I want though.

    Some spikes present themselves without the necessity for testing, the symptoms are overwhelmingly apparent.

    Seriously you need to stop thinking everyone has an obsession with material things. A merc is an absolutely useless for your state of mental wellbeing but socializing with other people is absolutely crucial. I'd rather not have a pot to piss in and be happy and have a decent social life than be the richest man in the world and feel miserable inside which is what lockdown is making people feel.

    Common sense is to socialize normally and not to live in fear of virus which is highly unlikely to kill you.

    As your actions have no bearing on the spread of Coronavirus and don't appear to have the consequence of putting others at risk, your question may be better suited to personal issues.

    Is this actually looking possible? I don't live in Dublin but am back in college in a few weeks in Dublin so I guess I'd have to do online classes or something if it goes ahead. Hoping it doesn't but it makes sense if numbers keep spiking...

    They may do cluster lockdowns in the Dublin region, it would be very difficult to lock the whole region down, without the country completely falling over

    They won't lockdown Dublin, and if they do, like before it'll be filled with exemptions so as to be largely pointless.

    People will still be crossing all over the city for work, to care for vulnerable relatives or other essential reasons. Likewise people will still be coming in and out of the city for the same reason.

    Garda enforcement will be minimal after the initial show, and that assumes they are given the legal authority to do so in the first place. NPHET will tell people not to have others round for dinner etc but the backlash to giving AGS the powers to break up such gatherings mean it'll only be a recommendation.

    Lockdowns don’t work. All they do is press pause and the same issues happen once the lockdown is lifted. See NZ, etc.
