.anti restrictions crowd here would have you believe it's none of the above , just a cold initially , then like flu , no second wave , open all up , need a haircut , need a pint in a pub , don't want to wear a mask , now need to drink all day if they want , virus is weakening , rising cases not a second wave , increased cases in hospital doesn't mean anything , blah , blah and more fxxxing repetitive blah!

    Christ you do certainly moan.

Yes, yes I did. I'm not apologising for the internet while on the internet. A doctor from Penn state should speak better,

Fair play citizen for highlighting it. We all get things wrong as most here would know.

The thread moves so fast I missed your acknowledgement. Fair play. Maybe dont be so quick to jump on every bit of negative news posted on twitter though. Its shown time and again that its not a reliable source.

And you didn't need to "trawl" to see the update btw. It even made it to reddit

PDA.. patent (meaning open ) ductus arteriosus , between Aorta and Vena cava. So not right or left but in between.
Mainly seen in prem babies as usually closed in full term infants . If not causes shunting of arterial and venous blood and hypoxia in newborns . Requires surgery if not closing .

    Why are you asking ?

Not the first time you got something wrong is it. You had to delete a tweet after getting reported.
Where exactly do you live btw, I'm curious.

It wasn't an admission of posting false information just so you know. He blamed the doctor and ACE for pointing it out.

The journal of New England Medicine. Probably better than randomer on forum saying viruses are dense but I've no proof of this. Use your judgement.

Evidence of Airborne Transmission of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Virus

    https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa032867

For those who can't click on links and read. Just read.
    METHODS
We determined the distribution of the initial 187 cases of SARS in the Amoy Gardens housing complex in 2003 according to the date of onset and location of residence. We then studied the association between the location (building, floor, and direction the apartment unit faced) and the probability of infection using logistic regression. The spread of the airborne, virus-laden aerosols generated by the index patient was modeled with the use of airflow-dynamics studies, including studies performed with the use of computational fluid-dynamics and multizone modeling.
    RESULTS
The curves of the epidemic suggested a common source of the outbreak. All but 5 patients lived in seven buildings (A to G), and the index patient and more than half the other patients with SARS (99 patients) lived in building E. Residents of the floors at the middle and upper levels in building E were at a significantly higher risk than residents on lower floors; this finding is consistent with a rising plume of contaminated warm air in the air shaft generated from a middle-level apartment unit. The risks for the different units matched the virus concentrations predicted with the use of multizone modeling. The distribution of risk in buildings B, C, and D corresponded well with the three-dimensional spread of virus-laden aerosols predicted with the use of computational fluid-dynamics modeling.
    CONCLUSIONS
Airborne spread of the virus appears to explain this large community outbreak of SARS, and future efforts at prevention and control must take into consideration the potential for airborne spread of this virus.

Right so ted. Here's you 6 months ago. Some people are more right than others.
Care to apologise? Imagine if someone listened to you, got infected and died?
How would you live with yourself.

    FYI it's September
I read up some more on the Spanish flu, its main victims were in the 20-30's age group.
My response and every response I made here is to the amount of scaremongering that is taking place.
The virus is here, it will spread and bar living in a closed environment we will all get exposed to it. All one can do is follow the hand hygiene advice. Masks are a nice placebo but basically worthless.
Same carry on during the swine flu outbreak.
On the upside, a vaccine is expected in September according to an expert on the Pat Kenny show yesterday. Impressive considering not long ago it would have taken 3 to 4 years to create a vaccine.

Sorry dude, you don't even live in Ireland and have posted several false tweets, even found out by a young man here who has the respect of many posters no matter what opinion they hold .
I won't use the language I want to describe your behaviour, you're not even worth an infraction.
Lol have you learned anything in the last six months? I know I have.

I'll rescind that comment and apologise to caveat for it - was 95% sure but maybe confusing with another poster from a time many months ago

    175% increase isn't what I'd call stable.
If you're inferring that the majority of hospital admissions are people going in for routine treatment and are found to be positive, and that number is increasing day in day out, well we have a larger issue then. People assume positive tests in hospitals are solely down to outpatient procedures or routine testing and none are people presenting with issues directly related to covid.

I'd even assume person who was tested and was positive and subsequently admitted at a later date would also get tested. I don't know the ins and outs of the procedure about confirmed cases, but I'm sure a hospital would swab and test to confirm they are positive. Can't just take the patients word.

This has been said by so many including some of the more logical positive posters I was beginning to actually go around at work checking for myself , doubting what I know is right !
Nobody is kept in if positive with Covid , unless they are very ill in the first place .
Anyone ADMITTED with Covid is too unwell and in respiratory distress or toxic , and needs acute treatment .
Total bs saying that patients are kept in for a couple of days observation . Out the door with them asap!
You might get a few cases in and a few cases out over a couple of days while that is happening, but not an inexorable rise as has been ongoing since mid August .

And as for the ridiculous post from the anti masker , nobody would be able to refuse ventilation!
Jeez if you are sick enough to require it you certainly would not be able to talk to refuse it !

Yeah probably because they didn't have them. I'm not going to apologise for Dr Fauci. I told those who would listen, hopefully some listened.

China who has dealth with largest epidemic says necessary to go outside. I agree surgical masks are designed to keep disease in. Respirators which are the white 3M DIY looking masks are infact designed to keep contaminants out.

So to summarise "they say masks no use" and hide in the half truth.

Either way we don't have them. #Comebackstronger

Thats the problem with posting false information, it's hard to get people to believe it when it's real. Thats assuming it is.
