Well they didn't plan on doing that. It was a calm evening when they went out. How you think they were idiots in conditions they had no control over.

    Complete bimbos.

"Barry Heskin of the RNLI in Galway said the pair were lucky to be alive."
Wednesday had been a “very dark night” with heavy rain, thunder, lightning and high winds, he said."

"After entering the water at about 9pm on Wednesday..." WTF

    "lack of aggressive testing/tracing"
Well are you saying that's Ireland?
Or just going Kemit and finding those rare negative twitter posts?
What's you're take on it, rather than it's concerning?

Plenty or orders for PPE were're outbid for at the last minute or taken from planes on the runway (not sure if that last bit is entirely accurate)

That poster has from the time they have registered posted exclusively in the covid threads posting twitter post after twitter post with predictions of the end of the world from people who have nearly always been discredited, or very dubious backgrounds or the vaguest of data to back up the post
On top of that telling people in Ireland how they should be while not even living here

So it can't be mentioned again? Are you setting the agenda of discussion here? Why considering the further regulations the restaurant/bar sector is subject to yet the meat processing industry has caused more out breaks.

What I meant was that is exactly what we had been saying .
Why do you always assume people are in disagreement with you ?
Maybe it's mostly true ...but on this occasion I wasn't !

I don't assume anything, but you confirmed my guess that you purposefully seek rows. You ain't getting one off me as I said yesterday. Have a good one.

He basically said forget the vaccine and think about surviving the next 9 months with the virus
Kinda evaded the question about his thoughts on the vaccine

Now maybe he is saying in a roundabout way it will be 9 months before a vaccine will be rolled out but that is some kind of doom mongering saying there is no hope til summer next year

Or he could be passing on accurate information?

Not really - I understand where he is coming from (doesn't want to commit to anything) but if all the signs are the vaccine will be here in the next 4 months then say that with a caveat not just come out and say we're living with it for at least another 9 months

Icu and deaths true indicators of illness in a pandemic. Very stable at present. 175% increase in hospital in cases. Think you are not even serious there... You do know if I was in hospital with a broken leg and was tested and came up positive that would be as covid admission to hospital. Alot of people are brought to hospital as precaution maybe without serious illness.

Yes re ICU and deaths . No re the rest of your post .
Hospitalisation has gone up 175% .
Anybody who tests positive will , at all possible , be discharged/ treatment postponed .
Noone admitted unless unwell enough , it's taken too seriously bringing the virus in to any hospital
This was the case in July and early August too , so if by your logic these are just incidental occurrences and nothing else has changed , explain the rise ?

"all the signs" now that's exact science! Their is also a chance something goes wrong or it takes a little longer. He may be giving his honest opinion. How can you be so sure it's all guaranteed to go swimmingly? I think you don't know but it's just an opinion that may be right or wrong.

What about the positive story of the two girls that spent a night clinging to a lobster pot? Being found after the night they had, was that not a positive story?

Also better understanding of the virus and therefore targeted treatment.

Quicker testing and treatment earlier in the infection cycle

Better understanding of symptoms to look out for. Catching it earlier.

Restrictions and guidelines protecting vulnerable main thing . Other things play their part but that is the main thing .

Let's call it what it is .

.anti restrictions crowd here would have you believe it's none of the above , just a cold initially , then like flu , no second wave , open all up , need a haircut , need a pint in a pub , don't want to wear a mask , now need to drink all day if they want , virus is weakening , rising cases not a second wave , increased cases in hospital doesn't mean anything , blah , blah and more fxxxing repetitive blah!

Alternatively the death rate in the early stages could have been due to inappropriate medication and unnecessary ventilation.
I know one woman who was hospitalised and she told me that they tried all sorts of different drugs. She left the hospital against medical advice because she reckoned they were doing her more harm than good. This woman is qualified nurse, although she hasn’t practised for a number of years. When they indicated that she might need to be ventilated she exercised her right to be discharged. She knew that ventilation kills many people.
    She is absolutely fine now.

Given you call masks " muzzles" you will forgive me for not giving my full attention to that post ;)

The obvious answer is that in March - in the early days - testing was poor. Now testing everywhere is much more organised.

This idea that the virus is weakening is unproven. It would be easy for researchers to prove it.

When Spain was having multiple times more deaths than now they likely had about that multiple amount more of cases.

They have recorded 440,000 about. Seroprevalence research would show them at 2 million to 2,500,000 cases. Squeeze in 5 or 6 times more cases with a massive peak in your data around 3rd April - their worst day for deaths - and you would be looking at case numbers that makes more sense.

    Agree .
Can't always understand your figures but the logic is perfect . Thanks .

Did you just get promoted as a mod? Do i criticise what posts you like? You have a cheek. Maybe you should put a few likes on some of the positive posts rather than the negative condescending arrogant posts that i do see you put likes on quite frequently.

Btw i didn’t put a like on it because of what country you reside from it was the latter part of the post.

Did you see or acknowledge the news that the twitter post you quoted yesterday about how 35% of big 10 athletes have myocarditis was totally false?

    175% increase isn't what I'd call stable.
If you're inferring that the majority of hospital admissions are people going in for routine treatment and are found to be positive, and that number is increasing day in day out, well we have a larger issue then. People assume positive tests in hospitals are solely down to outpatient procedures or routine testing and none are people presenting with issues directly related to covid.

I'd even assume person who was tested and was positive and subsequently admitted at a later date would also get tested. I don't know the ins and outs of the procedure about confirmed cases, but I'm sure a hospital would swab and test to confirm they are positive. Can't just take the patients word.

So a doctor in penn state said something and retracted it? Why should I say sorry . Citizen trawled and found something. Fair play.

Yes, yes I did. I'm not apologising for the internet while on the internet. A doctor from Penn state should speak better,

Fair play citizen for highlighting it. We all get things wrong as most here would know.
