Apologies. Just saw it now. On touch site with a crappy phone.

Tampex are on special. You seem very irritable.

Not at all - just seemed strange that you missed it.

The original main runway 05/23 lasted until 10/28 was built.

As I posted it crossed too many built up areas so the only option was east/west.

What is the tower crane recently erected in front of Terminal 2 for, is it a hotel?

Why does the parallel taxiway kink and cross 16/34 at a right angle, instead of jut continuing straight across does anyone know? Is it to permit traffic to hold short between the new runway and the new taxiway on 16/34?

ILS glidepath antenna for Runway 16 is in the way, so the taxiway kinks around to the south of the antenna.

Were the taxiway to go straight through, then putting the glide slope antenna on the north side of the taxiway would be too close to the threshold of 16, and on the south side of a straight through taxiway would be too far displaced down a short runway and also liable to interference from any aircraft holding on the taxiway.

It is recommended that taxiways cross or enter runways perpendicular to the runway, not at an angle. This is to help prevent runway incursions because it gives the aircraft on the taxiway has the best view along the runway and its approaches etc.

Yes, that makes perfect sense to this poster.

Think exiting Swords Bypass southbound headed Malahide at the Pavillions roundabout.

It looks like it has 6 taxiways and 2 of these are high speed taxiways.

There are seven, designated N1 to N7, reading from east to west. N3 and N5 are RETs (Rapid Exit Taxiways) serving RWY 28R and 10L respectively. N4 is currently called D3, and is primarily the route to RWY 16 for departure, or exiting after a landing on RWY 34.

The parallel taxiway is designated N from the eastern extremity to the intersection with RWY16/34, and thereafter it will be M to the west

Is the approach from the East to 28R from somewhere over Paddys Hill.

Where do they cross the coast.?

Over Lambay and the low rock?

Incidentally, the existing main runway, RWY 28/10, will be re-designated to become RWY 28L/10R on 8 October 2020.

Thanks for that, seems to be over the northerly point of the beach.

What is their legal right to be there? If its an illegal encampment then it should not result in a payday imo.

Great progress on the new runway
