    I did it's above.

No you didn't, you linked to fringe loons, none of which back up your claim with anything resembling scientific based evidence.

Grow up FFS lad, it's boring.

Carl Hennigan is a fringe loon?????? You need to grow up and listen to the experts. He's an advisor to the WHO and also has advised our Government.
Show me where he is a loon, stupid statement.

My two girls are just away. No tears or even the most remote sign of apprehension - in fact I didn't even get a cuddle! Two separate entry points for classes on the lower levels and upper levels. Masks on all teachers and separate hand sanitizers for each entry. Students were queuing up to get in with adequate spacing.
I'm hoping purely for them that it is a success - we had a lovely time at home but hearing them talk so excitedly about school this past few weeks has shown just how much they truly missed it.

They are not listening to him, The WHO are advising wearing masks.

But anyway, are you an anti vax loon, or do you just link to their dangerous nonsense for the crack?

Listen lad, Jim Corr is mentally unwell, stop following him and grow up.

Good for them. It is a clash between the worry of parents and that excitement for kids of seeing their friends again. As you say, hoping it'll be a success.

You referring to the same advisor that told WHO they shouldn't wear masks when running?

Might be time to go back to bed average runner.
Poster has a point vis a vis ministers and the top seat but they weren't helped by your lazy sweeping cliche. It is really a FF show at the moment, you can see how the dynamics have changed.

Well if anyone was outside my sons school taking pics at the school gates I'd ring the Gardaí and I guarantee they would be down and advise you to move on.

That's if you didn't get a kicking from parents when your spotted

In that regard aren't the RTE crews as dodgy as any parent with a camera? Kieran Creaven anyone?

You are clearly anti vax, anti mask and anti science. Completely echoing the mentally unwell Mr. Corr.

Please take all that nonsense and get up the fúcking yard, it's boring.

    Sure.
I don't want to start my young kids on a lifetime of flu jabs, I've 40ys on them and have never been advised to get a flu jab as I'm not in an at risk category. I've got the flu once in my life, I've built my own immune system and want my kids to do the same .

They are not in the seats that matter at present.

There was a special Q&A on Morning Ireland just now discussing some issues. Was informative. Some points that were of particular interest to me were

They have updated the guidelines again and there is no problem bringing in school bags, lunch boxes or books going home and back to school. Bit late for these updates seen as school have issued their plans now.

Also if your school has no hit water for hand washing they need special emulsifing soap to wash hands properly.

Lots of other information regarding cycling to schools, masks in secondary school, staggered dropoffs, buses. Worth a listen.

    .

    Must give it a listen.

I assumed that there was no problem bringing the bag and lunch box home...sure you have to give them a new lunch each day? Ours leave books in the school and take home what they need for homework - that was the norm before this year anyway.

The stand out alarm for me was when a child develops symptoms, no action is taken until they get the results of the test.

Over the next couple of months you are looking at a significant delay in turn around times, could be a full school week at least before the class is notified that it had a child with Covid.

    That won't end well.

If a child does develop symptoms, do they not have to stay home and rest of family/household restrict movement until a Test result ?

That's doesn't make someone an anti vaxxer, grow up.

Let's hear about your children? You haven't mentioned them?

My kids school has said no bags or lunch boxes allowed. Children must bring their lunch in mesh pouches. Pointless as far as I can see. Also no tissue in bathrooms to dry hands. Children must provide their own facecloth to dry hands. Very unhygienic.

Our Primary saying Face Cloth too for hands. New one every day in Ziplock bag.

    I'm anti vax

Well, why else would you be linking to well known fringe anti vax sites?

Who or what drew attention to it?

My issue with this is that it would have been handy for schools to have that level of detail before now.

Absolutely agree with you here. This drip drip drip of important information is infuriating as well as being pointless as decisions have been made by schools in the absense of clear guidance.

Where have they pulled that one out of, haven't seen a face cloth recommend anywhere, soap and water is the go to.

We've been told we have to check their tempature every morning, ordered 400 tips for the thermometer yesterday, reckon we need 25 a week as a fresh one for each child to prevent passing an ear infection from one to the other.

I imagine they do, but if that child was potentially spreading Covid in a classroom / school, that school / classroom may not find out for a week.

Obviously that potential spread won't just be confined to the classroom.
