Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That time penalty for Albon is very harsh.

Lando did a good job on Ricciardo.

Albon gets a 5 sec penalty.

Easy to forget how much fun Ricciardo is since he moved to Renault. Norris showing his quality there. Had a scruffy first lap but Sainz had a lovely first lap.

The SC is nearly over now.

Hard to tell the difference between SC laps and racing laps at the moment.

The McLarens have done well against Grosjean.

In my amateur opinion the Racing Point performance supports that they've copied rather than been given a huge amount of "help". Austria is a traction and braking circuit. Hungary is Max Downforce and High Drag track. Silverstone is Medium Downforce and High Speed which is where aero tuning is much more important. The fact that they've struggled much more on a track with much less simple set-up makes me think they have something that they don't have total understanding of.

Giovannazzi is being investigated for SC infringement.

Absolutely awful. Grouped together in midfield but not a huge amount happening.

Sit in front of the TV with an Xbox/PlayStation controller and it feels like you're driving.

Also, if you happen to have a helmet put that on.

If have neither of the above, put in big headphones and pretend you're in the pits giving driver instructions.

The Alfas are struggling yet again. Latfifi has gone past Raikkonen.

Half thinking of putting some paint up on a wall and watching it dry instead of watching this race

At least the TV directors deciding to show us the over take for 3rd last place than the mercs :)

Just noticed Latifi took Rosberg’s old number.

Max is finding the race as exciting as the rest of us by the sounds of it.

Max reminding his race engineer to drink. Sums it up really.

    5 second penalty for Giovannazi.

Id say Grosjean is a going to be black flagged.

Haas are having an off day in the pits.

Ted doing impressions of Max's 'bored' engine. When we are listening to aural equivalent of a gang of lads standing around making chit chat we know its a compete and utter bore.

Romain Grosjean, get this psychopath off the racetrack. He’s gonna put someone in hospital.

Russell could catch Vettel by the end of this race. He’s already closing in on Giovanazzi and Vettel is just phoning it in at this rate.

Time for me to head to Memory Lanes bowling alley to bowl with cousin Roman Bellic.

Vettel or for a Sunday drive, too leisurely getting in the way of other drivers!!

Hoping that next week with different tyres will be a better race. Or wet weather even.

And the same race for next weekend:mad:.

The biggest shame of all is how a vastly inferior driver is going to equal Michael's 7 World titles in a few races time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

I'm in Italy and rushed back from lunch out to watch the race. Found out only Sky Sports Italia are showing it live, which I don't have. Was disappointed at first but now it seems I'm not missing much. Same old story.

Ah time for the weekly theatre of Mercedes pretending to have a problem.

Hilarious that the commentators are talking about Hamilton struggling with blistering on his tyres while he sets another fastest lap in the background. This is an utter snoozefest

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Grosjean can redeem humself by binning his car in the next lap or 2

    ‘Vastly inferior driver’.

Oh cop on to yourself. Can we have one weekend without this nonsense?

Anyway. Verstappen needs to come in for softs. Make it interesting.

I was just thinking that. Yes, Hamilton is a great driver in that he does produce what's needed when it's needed, but most of it is down to the car. I would like to see him in a Red Bull or RP and see if he would still produce it race after race. He most likely wouldn't.

Schumacher just produced it wherever whenever however.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,772 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

Red Bull will be in serious trouble for 2nd in the constructors with Albon's current performance

Racing Point don't seem to have serious race pace, but McLaren's 2 drivers being constantly in the high points will have them on their tail in no time

That's where I can see some sort of mid season switch or Horner and Helmut being more public with their pressure on Albon

People giving out about the Merc dominance, but if you took both of them of of this race, it would still be a sh*t race.

You just need to look at his McLaren career to know that no, he wouldn’t produce it without an utterly dominant car. Not in the same class as Schumacher, or a driver like Alonso who regularly beat him in an inferior Ferrari at that time.

And even worse next year he will beat him without having to break a sweat. All Hamilton has to do is literally show up to the races.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

He’s won a race every year, some of which in absolute dogs of cars.

He’s beaten every team mate he’s had, including three world champions.

You’d swear he was never challenged according to some of the experts on here.
