Last time I had it was a greasy messy slop.

    Pretty apt description.

Anyone else remember them being very good in the very early days?
    Only one outlet, then.
Last time I got fast als I upchucked because of the greasiness. My friend once got food poisoning from eating one of their pizzas (Suppose what do you expect buying reheated chicken pizza from a microwave at 2 in the morning)

Ah, yeah. It was the pizza what done it!

I had my first slice of it passing through Cork in 2012.

IIRC it was fairly decent at the time, but I also might have had much lower standards :pac:

I'm going back to around 2003, I'd say.

    Way before my time.

But the missus who's a fussy Italian said she enjoyed it when she first came.

Which wouldn't be too far away from then

Went to Il Padrino. Superb food, had calamari and lasagne, really nice. Brilliant service too, I'd go back tomorrow!

Also went to O'Sullivan's in Douglas, poor service (but I can't blame the staff, its a difficult time) good wasn't great and it was very stuffy and unnecessarily loud. They had music blaring at 4 on a Sunday

First time in a restaurant since lockdown.
We went to the Woodford. Tasty food and friendly staff. Very relaxed!

Do you know they are doing a big renovation job there? Passed about a fortnight ago and the place was gutted inside.

I'm a huge Novecento fan but I got Oakfire the other day, my god it was beautiful. Different style to Novecento but equally as good.

Fabulous meal outside in Docklands this evening. We were lucky with the weather but the food was gorgeous

Tried it out earlier in the week. Wasn't too sure what I was ordering, but it was lovely food. Certainly recommend them.

Dammit! :) I live about 100m away from there, and yet when I'm thinking of new places to eat (especially, eat outside) I never think of there. I'll have to check out the menu again.

Plenty of tables there, fabulous menu and wine list

I thought it was tasty but it was the biggest rip off ever. I paid €10 for a piece of bread with lettuce on it. Had the the thinnest layer of falafel powder or something on it, which was basically invisible.

If boards.ie wasn't so ancient I'd be able to show a photo of it.

Watched a Food/travel show on Netflix last night and the guy went to Cork city briefly and to Miyazaki on Barrack Street - tried out the seaweed tempura; said he’d never come across it anywhere before; seemed well impressed anyway! He went to Kinsale and Ballymaloe too - good bit of advertising for Fishy Fishy and Darina Allen - not that sure Darina Allen and Ballymaloe need more advertising but anyway!

    Where is Docklands?

Had koto delivered last night, surprisingly was still steaming when the deliveroo guy dropped it off (first time using deliveroo, thought it would have been cold!). Was lovely as always. Probably one of my favourite Asian restaurants in the city.

I went shortly after it opened, really wanting to like it but I thought the quality of the food was really poor. I wonder has it improved with time?

Tangentially related, but Fishy Fishy is overhyped IMO. Their seafood chowder was SO salty when I went that I couldn't finish it, and the other dishes were not memorable. Could have been a bad day, but I won't waste money going back to test that theory.
