Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good think they brought all of those upgrades this week

Silly from LeClerc. At the front.. will be easy win for Hamilton now unfortunately.

Yep - pretty much a "torpedo" move. Not sure if he just overshot himself on the brakes or was actually hoping for it to work.

Poor from Leclerc there. He was too far behind to lunge down the inside like he did.

I like Sainz but we need him to stay out of the way for the lead battle. :pac:

Ah Ferrari. That one on LeClerc I think.

    Great rescue from George, there

Ffs, at least Ferrari get to pack up early to get a head start on getting to Budapest

Disaster for Ferrari again. This could be an embarrassing year for them.

I’m a huge fan of Leclerc, and maybe I need to look at it again but looked like an overly ambitious move.

Saying that maybe I’m wrong putting blame on Leclerc as Brundle seems to be blaming Vettel but at first glance (since Vettel had the line and was in front) it looked like Leclerc tried a very difficult move to cut in around the corner and hopped up over the kerb. Bit clumsy I thought.

    See you next weekend Ferrari

Was going to say that Leclerc would be lucky to finish with that coming together, so much more than the front wing.
Both ferrari cars retired now due to hitting each other.

Hamilton cruising away. :( Matter of time for Bottas to be on Verstappen's tail.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Double DNF for Ferrari, nowhere for Vettel to go. Costly mistake from Leclerc.

Elsewhere Perez up to P11 already, nice recovery with an assist from Ferrari

Don’t think Leclerc or Vettel we’re going to compete today.

Comes down to Verstappen and Bottas to me for any chance of a challenge to Lewis.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Devastating for Russell. Points probably gone unless a few more DNFs and mistakes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,292 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Is ricciardo asking to be let ahead of ocon with that message?

Perez with an interesting line there

Install rain sprinklers at all the circuits. Rain at the touch of a button!

He had the same chance of points as last week. The Williams will be finishing last barring a late-race incident causing someone to finish behind them. They're very, very slow.

Scratch that haha looks like Lewis is pulling away easily.

To be fair, I’m not a fan of his but after that brilliant qualy yesterday he deserves to win this race. Would have been nicer to see Verstappen stay tight on him to make a challenge of it though.

from Sainz to Perez it's a DRS train

Brundle has since clarified that he mixed the drivers up. LeClerc to blame.

True but would have been nice to see him stay up there longer and give some hope.

He was always going to have to be defensive though with the lack of speed. Would have been good to see them racing others for a bit though.

    Ferrari picking up 0 points.

Going to be weird looking at the Constructors standing after this race and seeing Ferrari down so far.

Looks like Brundle has backtracked and confused which Ferrari was which.

Now he’s pinning it on Leclerc. It just feels weird Ferrari being so far back this year.

Here are the votes from the Austrian jury: Ferrari - null points.

Not a big team orders fan but surely Renault would want to tell Ocon to let Ricciardo passed.

Both drivers losing time challenging and Ricciardo looking quicker. It’s important for Renault to maximize points

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Renault stepping over each other, doing Racing Point a favour

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,057 ✭✭✭Vic_08

Stupid fighting with teammate was Ocon's thing at Force India, seems like he hasn't learned that lesson.

Why aren’t Renault letting Ricciardo through? Ocon is on the faster tyre but he’s not getting away, and Sainz is pulling clear of them.

    Horrible management.

    Ricciardo finally passed Ocon.

“3 laps too late” spot on by the commentators.

    Hamilton absolutely bossing it.

Obviously great for him but shame we’re not getting the battle we wanted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,057 ✭✭✭Vic_08

Lucky for Renault Riccardo's racecraft is top notch, Ocon V Perez was demolition derby every time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

One of the things I love about Leclerc.

Takes responsibilities (rare in F1). Completely apologizing for it. Says he was too optimistic and he let the team down. Took full responsibility.

We’ve seen it before too but it’s good for a young driver I think. Saying he’ll go back and learn from it. So many just refuse to admit their mistakes and learn from them.

Leclerc very open and honest that it was his mistake and he binned the teams efforts for the weekend.

Max pits and seconds in front of Albon.

On this pace Hamilton to lap everyone up to 4th place unless Merc massively back-off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,249 ✭✭✭✭flazio

VER nearly took himself out coming into the pits.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,030 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

    Disaster for Ocon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,249 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Nothing Red Bull can do this time.
A 3-4 or a 2-4 will still get them off the board and ahead of Ferrari.

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭BikeRacer

I'd have thought it shouldn't be long now till a Haas causes a safety car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,491 ✭✭✭Harika

Only option is now a late safety car to throw strategy over

Pretty much half race distance on soft tyres. Meh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,772 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

The 3 leaders inc Verstappen wont be far off lapping Albon at this rate

Iv defended him but how is Albon about a second a lap slower, it looked pretty embaressing for Gasly last year getting lapped by team mate and it might happen again
