Shame for Mayo, they went 14/15 days without a case.
Donegal went from 22 days in a row back to square one.

    Sligo on day 29 now.

Hungary eh. Beat the virus. The old border control workers well after all. Just like New Zealand with its revered leader

Only 8 new cases, can someone check on Kermit?

Maybe a result that “ got lost in the post along the way”? Or some moron from Dublin who went to their holiday home and imported it?

Nah, theres plenty of doom fuel from around the world. X place having its worse day yet etc etc. Think there's been 2 or 3 of those already today. US numbers will start coming in soon.

He’s furiously counting the body bags from Brazil and Mexico

By my count 112 cases this week the lowest weekly number since March 2nd to 8th. We had 249 cases last week.

Two weeks in a row to have deaths under 40, first time that has happened since the virus arrived.

What’s the craic with the Kermit hating? All he’s doing is posting facts of infections and death rates etc.

What's the deal with wearing masks in banks & post offices? There's a clear security issue there with potential robbers.

How exactly ? I've haven't gone by a bank or post office recently without there being a queue outside .

I've never heard of robbers queuing up

The deal is that it helps to stop spreading the disease.
I don't believe that wearing a face mask is going to lead to an increase in robberies.

To be fair now in my own office we've had the remote working option for the last 2 years, in a building of just under 600 its never caught on.

In my own department everyone wants to return to the office and have the option to use remote working a little bit more, a day or two here and there but in general from my own experience it doesn't seem to be changing in my place. The option has been there, will continue to be there, the most frequently said issue seems to be the lack of ability to switch off from work mode at home.

Not switching off happens in an office too.
Being able to switch off is a personal and at times company attitude.

I've worked from home since 2017 and love it. I'm more productive than when in the office as it's easier for someone to distract you, try and get you to do their work for them etc in the office, and once quitting time comes, the laptop and the mobile are switched off.

I can see working from home being more popular with some companies that already have such policies in place before covid, in that it will be extended to more staff than before, but for some companies due to general bad management, I can see it being scrapped asap.

People trying to be trendy or some ****e. I personally like reading the posts he puts up from what's going on in the world for a bit of perspective. And I'm optimistic as fook about all of this.

See I'm the opposite, work better in the office and find more distractions are home. It's everyone's personal choice at the end of the day but I feel I get much more done in the office environment. Admittedly I also don't have the space to set up a proper office space at home so that too plays into it, at the moment I'm working wherever I can but heading into the office too when possible.

Hate is too strong of a wrong, posters are probably a bit tiresome of anyone that has a big focus on the few negatives.

You for example had this line yesterday.

Analysis of cases as of midnight Friday 12th June - 25,295 cases (+46)

    Healthcare Workers +7
    Clusters +29
    Cases associated with clusters +46

    Age Range Affected
    0-4 +2
    5-14 +3
    15-24 +4
    25-34 +9
    35-44 +9
    45-54 +8
    55-64 +4
    65-74 +1
    75-84 +4
    85+ +2

    Cases by County
    Carlow +3
    Dublin +31
    Galway +1
    Kilkenny +2
    Mayo +1
    Monaghan +1
    Roscommon +1

    Note:
I incorrectly stated it was +41 in Dublin, it's actually +31. Clusters still growing which indicates private households still dominate the daily cases.

Is that 3 days this week that have reported cases in the 0-4 age group? Presumably due to testing households as contacts rather than ill children?

I did indeed and I stand by that. We are already seeing second waves in the USA and Iran.
    But again just my opinion.
    Great gif by the way!!

Not having a space at home is an issue, but on the other hand some companies just have hot and standing desks which are a load of crap, and I can't see how they can use them for the foreseeable.
Some also have desks crammed together in double rows, like an assembly line with no space between them. Anyone who has ever been in building 4 of a certain multinational near Clonee would know what I mean, and again can't see this type of layout being usable for the foreseeable.

He happily passes over all the good news stories from around the world and even within countries to pick out the worst examples, that fit his agenda. It's facts but selected facts.

Different countries and not to mention the mast protests and looting that’s going on it’s not surprising there’s some rise. But why not look at the other states? Look at NY, no second wave there.

I bet Ireland won’t have a second wave and if the bet was real i’d put a substantial amount on it ;-)

No one is hating Kermit but you say he’s posting facts and figures. He’s not posting them all only the worst he can find. That doesn’t give proper perspective. If you’re going to post facts and figures post the good and the bad. You won’t see him posting Irelands figures.

USA is first wave as is Iran whose numbers are totally unreliable to the point of nonsense.

Spain, it is depressing EU has pretty much things under control, Spain will open borders to other EU nations June 21(fair enough) ... and internationally on July 1.

Crazy, we see things going crazy in South America and they will have flights coming in from there from July 1.

After all this work and sacrifice they are just gonna **** it up by opening up...

I don't know what the Spanish are up to lately. First hiding the death tolls and now this.

I think the whole office culture will change (is changing) permanently. People will realise they can work remotely and efficiently. Some people may be in the office a couple of days a week and for others it may be a couple of days a month. No need to sit in traffic jams. Take a lot of pressure off City centre rents and allow workers more time with their families. In fact I can see productivity rising in a lot of "service industry" jobs

I was already moving towards retirement working 4 days a week and stepping back entirely in 2 more years time. I now reckon I'll be in the office for perhaps 30 more days and elsewhere in meetings for another 5-10

I used to think we would see fundamental changes over the next decade or so, but we are experiencing them now.

That's a good thing for IT workers. Can't say the same for field workers. My wife still be going to the clinic. I cannot relocate too far.
