This was already discussed. You have 17 threads to look through. I don't remember where it was.

Can anyone back up the new information with a 5% failure rate in tests?

Brilliant, as usual you state something and don't back it up and then deflect to something else.
    Standard

    It's been already discussed.

Can anybody find the new information with a 5% failure rate in tests?

And you're the poster who couldn't back up what you said about a 5% failure in negative tests in the mask thread.

Last I heard it was 30% failure rate. Can you back up your claim of 5% failure rate? And your story might be more believable.

Last you 'heard'? Where did you 'hear' this?

A 5% failure rate is good news, it's better than 30. People love the positivity here, so I'm surprised it wasn't posted here.

I'm not finding anything by doing a Google search. So can you direct me to your claim of 5% failure rate in tests?

It wasn't posted because nobody was continually harping on about a high false negative rate.

I've had enough of you deflecting and not addressing points put to you but, if you can access it try reading a study in the journal Radiology. BBC News 7th May had "accuracy is improving, says Dr James Gill, a GP locum and honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Warwick. Where the test once had about a 20-30% false negative rate, he believes it’s now nearer to around 5%". Plenty more available.
Now I'm done having to justify things to you.

And again can anybody direct me to the new information to a 5% failure rate? It's good news, I'm surprised I can't find anything. And neither can the poster who knows all about the 5% failure rate.

Can you get me the news for Ireland please?

!!!! Tell you what. You show where there is a 30% false negative rate estimated for Ireland within the past three months first.

Unbelievable. You only want to hear what you believe.

It is you who is deflecting the question. Another poster asked you for link to your claim yesterday and you didn't even come back with it.

Because you're talking pure bullsh!t with a 5% failure rate.

I know I've said it before, but I suspect the poster is a WUM. So what they say, just let it roll off your back

You know you're right. I'm the one talking bull**** because you don't want to accept the truth. Good luck in life with that attitude.

It's worded less than 5% false negative

As we enter phase 2, keep 2m distance and hand washing regularly, let's erase Covid19 completely

The whole testing situation is a failure, we're all doomed, 10 million irish people are asymptomatically infected, call in the army

You're way out of date. Current testing estimates false negatives at less than 5%.

You wear your mask and keep your distance as best you can. You really need to relax about this.

That’s rubbish, they are commercially available in all travel vaccination clinics. I had one last week at a cost of €80 and less than a 2-day turnaround from bloods to result.

The person I was respond to was asking about free antibody tests, and that’s what I was referring to.

    Apologies.
I dob't think there will be free ones. When the government do theirs it will be for survey purposes, people won't get personal results.

South America basically getting as bad as Europe was now....Chile reported 650 deaths today..hard to believe anywhere is getting to that point, I really thought it would be uniquely bad for Europe and USA because of older population demographics. Quite worrying for countries such as India and Pakistan which have just ended lockdown

The 30% false negative stat came out of China months ago. It wasn't mentioned what platform they were using. The 30% number stuck but it has no basis in Ireland.
I dont think it's possible to accurately estimate the false negativity rate.

Swab someone too early in their infection, not enough viral particles, negative result.
Swab someone improperly, sample compromised, negative result.
Swab someone after they've recovered, negative result.

How do you accurately measure the incidence of poor collection or the patients stage of infection.

The decreasing number of cases is reflected in the decreasing number of hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths.

I would say our testing is very accurate.

You're not supposed to give the facts. :)
I hope you're prepared to provide links and full accreditation for all that because someone somewhere said otherwise at some point.

It's a late start for these countries. You are not immune to a novel virus. No one is.

You couldn't back up your claim with something that's apparently in the Irish news for weeks. It took somebody else to answer for you. Someone I'm guessing is in the medical profession with the way how they write. So please don't put me down.
