But the issue is complicated. You can't just say all types of public gatherings are alike.

This risk with having low number of new cases is that our doom merchants scientists/professors (Gerrys) will come out and try to push govt into "just 3 more weeks of strict lockdown to completely eradicate this virus"

and knowing how easily Leo is convinced it is a real worry.

And yes, virus does seem to be going away, a smart man predicted this

The HSE advertised recently for a new Consultant Microbiologist post and a new Epidemiologist post.

Hopefully they get reliable people in!

Ugh going to collect my sons belongings from school tomorrow, should be getting him ready to go back instead...4 weeks would do wonders for him, looks like he’ll finish the 1st class unable to write/spell

Don’t agree with the lack of social distancing but that’s the wrong for the Garda to take. Yesterday was the time to break it up.

Open your doors next Monday 8th June and leave these experts and their puppets Leo and Simon continue to believe that this is still an issue here.

For god sake 10 cases in 5 million people and who cares if it’s weekend figures.

We’d need to be seeing cases in the 4-500 range to keep this crock of sh1t going.

It’s an absolute embarrassment at this stage. Let’s win back our country and stop listening to Dr Tony say we might be able to move on to phase two at the end of the week.

I say parts of phase four will be brought to phase three. If they keep lockdown until June 29th we may be able to open up overall more quickly. I would imagine they will need to get figures as low as possible in phase 2 and then bring forward other parts from phases 4 or even 5 to June 29th. We could be out of lockdown by the end of June

No excuse and what’s new about protesting? Tbh I’ve very little care for their “cause”. This happened in the USA. Nothing to do with us.
I care more about the grandparents here that haven’t seen their kids, the businesses about to go under after many years building them up, the missed cancer diagnoses.
If this was any other protest it’d be **** down immediately. Because it’s to do with race everyone think they have to tippy toe around it

What they need to say is "okay, we will be opening up quicker and bringing phases forward as long as new cases stay under 100".

Anything else is just waffle, "as low as possible" " we are not there yet" "cause for concern"

Yes, if we were told if we keep going this way and stick to lockdown restrictions more restrictions can be lifted on June 29th. There is already talk about childcare providers opening up then to everyone so they are pulling things forward
