How is it impossible - you sound like the parents are children as opposed to the children.

Look if you want to keep your children confined or terrified of mixing with others that's up to you. As I said I have been seeing children from multiple households mixing since the start of this yet the virus is declining in the community. So personally I don't see an issue, you keep worrying if you want.

No people aren't forgetting the 2 weeks. Look at other European countries who are well past a 2 week incubation period and lifted restrictions a month ago, no increase but a continuing decline. Our 5 phases are dragged out to leave us last in the EU to open up. But this is something for the relaxation of restrictions thread.

If people do their own research into it there are reasons to be positive and optimistic, if people take everything on rte and virgin media as face value then it's no wonder people are scared

A lot of those countries had big infection rates, we didn't, no deaths on Monday and they think it's all over, at least one of the testing centres blew away on Thursday night so they wouldn't have put any figures, Monday's figures are always questionable, weekend staff in hospitals, out of hours doctors ,no death certs will be issued until Tuesday or Wednesday,

But community transmission was suppressed due social distancing. Yes some kids were playing (2 to 5%) - but this has increased in the last week or so.

You've seen a few - but very little. You've seen more in the last week or so.

Harris tells the Dáil that R is now indicated to be between 0.4 & 0.5
I'm not sure if it's likely that we may have seen even just a tiny bit of the effect of phase 1 yet? Either way the R is still decreasing, which is fantastic.

Well my kids don't do it. So yes.

That is what we have all done for last 2 months

Call the Gards if you are not comfortable with children playing

    What are you on about.

I genuinely asked where are we in relation to that - the government guidelines.

No offence but don't presume to tell me what I have seen. Thanks.

you seem put out by it. So I am suggesting a solution to you.

No offence but don't presume to tell me what I have seen. Thanks.

But you are wrong. There were little or no kids together in groups for the first 5/6 weeks - they were not even near the shops or even allowed in.

You may have seen a few - but it was not the norm. You can't make up a false reality.

I drove all over Dublin too.

Wow you drove all over Dublin, I don't live in Dublin so once more don't presume to tell me what I saw. No kids stopped from going into my local shops either. So best you ring the Garda and see how you get on if you think the kids are breaking restrictions.

    China not messing around:

    https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/05/10-days-9-million-swabs-6-5-million-tests-mass-covid-19-screen-in-wuhan/

They found 218 asymptomatic cases out of the 6.5 million tests they did.

phase-2-covid-whats-new-5107812-May2020 is the link you sent. So yes, the reccomendations you sent apply from June 8th.

Well that is daft then . So a retail outlet that opened this week is exempt from recommenations that apply to those opening on June 8th ? I very much doubt that

What are you actually on about?? A test centre blew away, ok so you realise they don't keep anything in them, they take the swabs and send them to the labs daily so that's not an issue if it blew away.

Ah the good old civil service/ hospitals dont work on Sundays argument. I know for a fact that services that would have previously not been run over the weekends are running on a 24/7 basis.

I agree , until last Monday I saw very few kids out playing together . Since Monday I am seeing kids out on greens etc playing in groups . Personally I think it was bound to happen , keeping kids apart for 9 weeks was a disaster for them

when they had lower deaths (in the 100's) you dont post it though
    Same with Italy.

It is a lag from the bank holiday.
    You love negativity.

It must be a slow death day in Mexico and Brazil.

Yes yes it's Kermit's fault the virus exists. It's Kermit's fault the UK death rate is the second worst in the world. It's Kermit's fault they'll probably screw up the next stage....

No one is suggesting it's Kermit's fault, it is however suggested he only posts misery never any good news which from what I have seen of his posts is a correct assessment of his comments todate.

I did a bad Mexico, Brazil, Latin America and an (improving) EU this morning actually.

I'm not going to not post news just because it's bad.

I'm getting fed up of your miserable, bullying crap.
And just so you know, he's given more good news to people on this site than you ever have or ever will.

You read that article and think, wow they really have their **** together and aren't taking any chances, but then the wet markets are open again and bat arsehole will be back on the menu soon ... I don't get this penny wise pound foolish attitude.

    no one said that though?

There is a clear bias towards bad news only by some on here. When did you last see daily stats from italy, new york or spain posted? When the numbers are bad its done religiously.

If you feel someone is bullying why not report it? Bullying is a term thrown around on these threads alot just to silence others. Fed up? Scroll on by its easy that's what I do.

    This is not correct.

For example, I have consistently stated my belief the economy will rebound hyper fast only to be told by same crew that...

    "YOU'RE BEING TOO OPTIMISTIC KERMIT!"

    "RECORD UNEMPLOYMENT KERMIT!"

    "WE'RE ALL DOOMED KERMIT!"

"THE WORLD IS FALLING DOWN AROUND US KERMIT!"

    ...

    :pac:

After the last Sars outbreak the Chinese said they would close the wetmarkets, didn't happen. Wouldn't happen this time either. The Chinese are full of it, it's time now for the rest of the world to hold them to account. For the next virus they cause to be released may not be as ' benign' in comparison to the present one we are having such fun with.

Calling a poster negative is not bullying.

If he has given good news to people on here fair play but I am sick of him focusing on the negative stories rather that the positive one's.

Do you think cap letters make the above credible. A link to someone making those comments to you would be a more appropriate action on your behalf.
As for your belief the economy will bounce back hyper fast, the available evidence contradicts you as do many experts . Although feel free to outline your economic expertise.

Good news that, just curious where you saw that ? Assumed FAI would make a big press release about it
