    17 more deaths RIP.

    73 new cases.

Complacency is our biggest enemy here. Figures can turn in the blink of an eye.

I'd like to see more detail though.

72 lines up exactly with what they would have been yesterday with the 24hr timeframe.

Reminder today's numbers will be the first we have received for a specific day. 24hr period 00:00 to 00:00.
No, they said yesterday that the data was from midnight. The count was up until 11am. Tuesday the count was to midnight. Those figures are included with today's between midnight and noon. Tomorrow will be midnight to midnight.

Yup it's no major change at all given the new way of reporting.

It's fairly inevitable that we are going to see big percentage fluctuations with relatively low daily numbers and days with some and days with none. You really need to watch the trend across several days or even a full week to get any sense of what's going on.

    RIP to those who died.

Based on my calculations, we have 1,083 active cases.

No it's not. Yesterday was 13 hours only 11am to 00:00. Today is 24hrs.

Very high recovery rate mentioned there with regards to healthcare staff

Why is it that the way the give the figures seems to change every few days or is it because there’s a bank holiday weekend coming so we need to scare the sh1t out of the public again.#projectfear

Breaking news: people die a lot on some days and not on others. Have a bit of cop on.

They could be reporting the facts. Just a thought, mind.

They're asking ridiculous questions. They can't reference individual cases.

Would be interesting to see a breakdown for today's reported deaths as to when they occurred. They usually have that data available

Some of the questions asked to Tony H are embarrassingly stupid.

Tony fairly slapped that journalist from Newstalk down. Was a fairly nonsensical question all the same.

Where are you getting those hours?

2 days in a row the same journalist has asked about inspections of meat plants. Ask the HSA

It was said at yesterdays press conference that the reporting times were changing

I know you can't take much from one day, logically I do... (and that with lifting restrictions comes numbers again) but I do feel a bit down seeing those numbers go back up. It was such a relief seeing them going down so much. Good news about the recovery rate though.

I think this has already happened considering they're going to be cutting the press conferences to 2 days a week

I admire his patience seeing the amount of nonsensical and quite clearly headline provoking questions he has to field daily.

Yes the bump of "extra" deaths after yesterdays curtailed reporting period.

Pointless daily post. Must have been frustrating when there were 0 deaths the other day.:(
