Why is it that the way the give the figures seems to change every few days or is it because there’s a bank holiday weekend coming so we need to scare the sh1t out of the public again.#projectfear

They're still presenting facts to us. It's a tragedy that 17 people have died that likely wouldn't otherwise have done from this awful disease. Doesn't matter to me whether those 17 are over 11 hours, 24 hours or two days.

One of the main reasons why people have become so de sensitised to this is people only think of statistics. Not the 17 grieving families who won't even be able to say goodbye to their loved ones properly.

I know you can't take much from one day, logically I do... (and that with lifting restrictions comes numbers again) but I do feel a bit down seeing those numbers go back up. It was such a relief seeing them going down so much. Good news about the recovery rate though.

the 5 day and 7 day averages remain on a downward trend thats what to look at.

Who let Zara back in? Seriously.

Yes the bump of "extra" deaths after yesterdays curtailed reporting period.

I thought you were referring to case numbers.

The deaths could have occurred at any time, they've not said when they're from, they're reported in the last 24hrs alright but we've no idea when they occurred.
They usually have a chart available but haven't showed it

You'd wonder how much Ryanair resuming flights is about not having to refund already booked flights this summer than thinking people will be able to travel. Might cost them a bit less to run quieter flights rather than having to refund people.

Bit of a joke they can operate flights to holiday destinations when non-essential travel is advised against.

I am convinced that the later press conferences are because of her, so that Virgin Media news would miss on new figures for their 8pm news.

Oh no, I think I might be coming down with a cold. Have a stuffy nose. My sense of smell and oxygen is ok. Not sure what else I can test myself with. I hope this isn't it.

I think this has already happened considering they're going to be cutting the press conferences to 2 days a week

I think it's getting to the stage whereby the journalists themselves don't want to be there themselves at all day in day out. We are doing fairly well dealing with the pandemic and there's often little change in what questions to ask. With questions now on a regular loop and questions regularly asked that shouldn't be directed at Tony in terms of what actual light he can bring to some of the matters at all.

If these were people who were already in hospital, and their condition deteriorated, it is hard to see why he would be worried from an overall perspective. A spike in hospital admissions or new cases would be much more of a cause for worry

Realistically anyone who has a wedding has probably postponed. Need to have venue sorted and issue invites 2 or 3 months in advance. Anyone planning one for this summer, autumn or winter has probably postponed to same time next year. Besides possible extra costs who would want a wedding now? Would be weird

I tend to agree. Hospitalizations fell by 70 in the last 24 hours. People moved to ICU are generally in hospital for a long time before admission.

If you're concerned give your GP a call and they will go through your symptoms over the phone and if they think you need a test will refer you. Might be more flexibility to refer these days. Should have result back relatively quickly too.

He is probably saying he worried out of respect for the family's. The drop by 70 is a very good sign but time nxt 10 days will tell if we can continue to suppress it further.

It was said at yesterdays press conference that the reporting times were changing

So they'll be only taken in the data that arrives up till 12 midnight?

    Tomorrow's numbers will be today's 24hr figures. Likewise, today's numbers are yesterday's 24hr figures.
