Yesterday the 21st of May was the twentieth anniversary of the first appearance of the American badass version of the undertaker at judgement day 2000. I still know where my tape of that show is in my parents house is because I found it last Christmas.

Oh wow! Just watched it for the first time ever on the Network. The Ironman was very well done.

That was a better iron man than The completely overrated Bret/Shawn Match

Is he the money man behind them that got caught in some sort of scandal when they left Whatculture and had to stand down and not be seen to be involved on screen.

The Bret and Shawn match while probably between two better wrestlers is like watching paint dry. The judgement day one is excellent. I loved the way triple h got DQed but then got a pin. Also jerry lawler was excellent on commentary. The network version has used a different camera angle at the end when the undertaker comes down the aisle. It's not a massive change but it's noticeable if you say it live.

From what I hear he was never a money man with what culture or cultaholic.
Accordingly he asked women for nude photos on social media while in a relationship. Which led to him getting cut from cultaholic. He disappeared and recently started to do YouTube stuff again I just read.

I remember watching his whatculture stuff years ago. Something about him. A person you'd tell to shut up if you had to deal with him on a daily basis :pac:

Saw Gronk was on the James Corden show this week so had a quick look to see if they mention him being 24/7 champion.
He was on with Venus Williams and she had her championships behind her so Gronk started bringing in all his trophies and someone off camera brought the title on briefly behind him but nothing was mentioned. Funny thing was there was no reaction from Venus seeing the trophies but she gave a wee laugh when she saw the title. At least I assume it was what she reacted to.

Reminds me of someone from boards I met in real life, so obnoxiously loud and a know it all. Actually it's harsh to compare Blampied to him. :pac:

Where are TNA/Impact/GFW at these days? I would love to see the tape library bought by WWE, they'd get a few months Network membership out of me for it.

They have their own streaming service if you want to dig in to the library. I think there is a free trial. https://impactplus.tv/

Cheers! The first couple of years of monthly PPVs has some of the best in-ring stuff ever. Such a pity when I hear a reference to TNA and realise many people think of it mostly with Hogan and Bischoff and other BS.

Do like Whatculture and Cultaholic but sometimes find there podcast a bit annoying and miserable. There countdowns and top 10s etc are good

That guy who shouts 'Iconic' and 'Titus worldwide' is irritating

Yeah Simon miller. He's training to be a wrestler actually. Has loads of videos about it too. Which I don't care about :pac:

Hey like if he wants to follow his dream then fair play. Doesn't mean I have to care tho haha...

It is well worth the sub, I went through all of TNA PPV's from 2005 - 2012 last year. It really made me miss old days of TNA for highs and lows.

Some stuff like Knockouts division has not aged well but matches from the likes Styles, Angle, Christian and anything from tag team and X-Division hold up well. I even enjoyed going through Hogan-Bischoff run just for whacky stuff like Joker Sting and rise of Bully Ray, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode.

Did they keep the Jeff Hardy/Sting disaster?

Loved early TNA with the X-Cups and Ultimate X.

From 2004/5 to 2008/9 it was amazing wrestling all over.

What a roster of talent they had then Hogan and Bishop came in and destroyed it.

If only there had been a sign of how hogan and bischoff would mess things up...

They had their highs and I enjoyed watching them, and still do occasionally (most recently the RVD stuff), but it’s like a TV show that has one good season for every 3 awful ones. I can’t invest in them as a company because their one defining trait over their entire run, no matter who was in charge, was that things go tits up for them. Tbh my ideal scenario for them personally is that WWE buy out the old content and stick it on the Network. I’ve no problem with them still existing and obviously they give wrestlers jobs, but that’s the only way I’m getting any use out of them beyond the occasional intriguing PPV or clip on YouTube that’s usually only intriguing because “oh look they did a TNA on it again...”

The rot was in before Hogan and Bisch showed up. They had a great show, network support and Kurt Angle. Everything was going great and then Vince Russo came in. The show took a nose dive (Still great wrestling of course).

Ah it was always a bit crappy now, let’s not forget they started out built around a main event scene consisting of Jeff Jarrett, Ken Shamrock and R-Truth (but WWE’s quality was starting to dip so people were hungry for something else and gave it a pass). The times were it was all in-sync and pushing boundaries were more the exception than the rule, and it’d only ever last a couple of months at best.

Even when elements like the X-Division or tag/women’s division were on fire, you’d have stuff like Christian, Booker-T and drugged up Jeff Hardy coming in and immediately being treated like gods and given all the belts, making it come off as second rate WWE. They had a great roster for a long period of time so that always ensured high points, but they could never stop looking like a joke. The King of the Mountain match, for me, epitomises TNA: an absolute clustered mess trying way too hard to be ‘alternative’, but the wrestlers are good so they somehow make it work.

AEW have already done a far better job of establishing themselves as a legitimate alternative worthy of people’s attention in less than a year than Impact ever did in their lifespan (and even then they’re sometimes guilty of many of the same sins). I tuned into their PPV last night and it just felt like a natural thing to do: like it was important, relevant and that I could feel safe knowing I’d be entertained. I never, ever got that off Impact. I was always either ‘giving it a chance’, watching for one match or straight up waiting for it to all go wrong.

Daniels/Joe/Styles from Unbreakable 2005 is still one of my favourite ever matches. 06-07 LAX were class too, one of the more underrated wrestling groups for me!

I think he and Archer were in WWE development together in Florida about 10/12 years ago.

Exactly. No way is he natural. He's too big.
Has been lots of guys over the years where you question why WWE were not interested. There's always factors we'll never know about. Bad attitude, known drug problem, steroids, headache to deal with and the list can go on. Seems not everything gets known.

It's funny going through BOLA's and seeing him get bigger and bigger every year.

Is there something people are using that leaves circular marks on them? I know someone in AEW has 2 red circles, think it's Omega. Can't remember, but I just remember every time I see them, what they are. Then watching the latest episode of The Last Ride, I see 2 circles on the lower back of Michelle.
Of course, maybe they're just working for the Mysterons.

    Sounds like cupping.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupping_therapy

Like massage therapy, but with giant round hickies on your back.
