With the way they've treated Asuka on the main roster, I want Kairi to stay on NXT

It's a gimmick that could die a quick death on the main roster but she's likeable enough to pull it off and her English is a bit better than Asuka's.

Also, Random Wrasslin' > Random Wrestling.

I really don't see how asuka's poor English actually hurt her. It's how she is booked that's the problem. She didn't speak much in nxt but she used to throw these looks at her opponents that used to say more than any promo could. Kairi, Io, and Xia li all have better English than Asuka but then they are all younger than asuka, and even if asuka was better at speaking English she's supposed to have a very thick accent when speaking to the point where nakamura said it's hard for him to understand asuka when she speaks Japanese.

I think it did. Becky for instance, underdog promos were a big part in the crowd getting behind her initially, fans were able to connect. That's off the table for Asuka because of those fúcking "What?" chants. Fans like her but it's hard to build a worthwhile feud when the main roster is all promo, promo, promo and fans are too thick or impatient to listen through an accent.

I'd love if they just leaned into it and have her rant in angry Japanese because it sounds cool. Kinda related, someone posted this the other day on Reddit highlighting her awesome NXT run...

    https://streamable.com/0ecxd

    "It's mine."

Think how good you have to be to go on a 914 day unbeaten streak, mowing through divisions and the casual fans and the internet love it and don't complain about "over-pushed" and "burying people"?!

For anyone looking to kick Mania week off a little early, the first batch of shows begin tonight. Highlights include Santino Marella & Colt Cabana taking on the Heavenly Bodies, Billy Gunn in action, Swoggle vs Dan Maff in a street fight, a Chris Masters Masterlock Open Challenge and the much anticipated reformation of Stars and Stripes, the team of Buff Bagwell and the Patriot :P

I thought Santino was forced into retirement due to injury. Or is that just in WWE and he's ignoring advice?

i totally heard worse promos than these from wrestlers over the years

Turns out Dan Maff defeated Swoggle in the street fight by wrapping Swoggle's head up in a step-stool and forcing him to quit :D Santino and Colt got the win, there was also a Bird Box match, in which both participants and the referee were blindfolded. Still trying to find out if Stars and Stripes made a victorious return!

There's loads on today, including Session Moth Martina making an appearance, Swoggle VS Scott Steiner and Eddie Kingston VS Shinjiro Otani. Pick of Thursday's offering for me though is Impact United We Stand. Johnny Impact has been added to what should be an entertaining Ultimate X match, Callihan and Jimmy Havoc in Monster's Ball, more Impact VS Lucha Underground, and the Lucha Bros against RVD and Sabu!

Hornswoggle faces Scott Steiner and Nick Gage this weekend so spare a thought for him.

Anyway I wanted to post this classic WCW moment which that I was reminded of listening to an old Keep it 2000

Was it ever revealed who threw the pie in Kevin Owens face, or was it just a random one-off throwaway gag.

Well Bloodsport absolutely ruled. Smiled the whole way through Suzuki v Barnett, an incredible match. A show and match that are going to take some beating.
Other shows on this weekend I'm going to watch are the Wrestlecon Supershow, Rev Pro, NXT, G1 Supercard, Spring Break part II & I'll get round to Mania at some point.

Watching HBK undertaker Wrestlemania 25. The dive with camera man Snuka is still terrifiying in case you were wondering. Wincing and cringing on every replay

The bigger question is does Vince actually know what AEW is ? The company of WWE obviously do but I’m asking does Vince know.

Reading the article about Becky on the Irish times site. Didn’t realize she’s related to fidelma from glenroe.

Any other wrestlers with famous relations?

They did and I don’t know but Billie Kay and big E are potentially more than friends.

Also is there anything cesaro isn’t good at ?

watching the new WWE untold Sting on the network

Sounded like it was The Rock vs Triple H and Taker vs Sting (A taker fued was top of Stings list apperently) at Mania 31 but The Rocks schedule did not allow him to have a match and It became Sting vs Triple H instead. The Story of the Taker vs Sting would of been amazing but egos came in the way in a bit cause Sting mentioned he wanted to do somethng with Triple H

one of those things but tbh it was a decent match and spectable between him and Triple H

The way it is now we could still see Taker vs Sting in Saudi Arabia

Fandom is weird sometimes. Wrestlers are allowed make their own decisions on what to do with their own bodies.

Yeah they are of course. But she's a young woman who is increasingly beginning to look like some of the horror shows twice her age in Hollywood desperately trying to hold onto their looks. It's sad to me that she thinks she has to do that.

But she's not the only one either on their books that is at it. That is my bigger concern and makes me wonder what kind of atmosphere they are fostering.

Yeah? And? People are allowed to comment on those decisions.

I mean...in the same sense you're 'allowed' make unsolicited comments to random people you come across in the street and everyday life too. You're 'allowed' in that nobody can stop you, but doing so still makes you a bit of a knob. I'm sure if someone dissected your own physical appearance within an inch of its life for no particular reason, the fact that they were 'allowed' to do so would be little comfort to you.

But you're basing all of your assumptions there, by your own admission, on one picture you saw of her at the HOF. You've literally zero idea of the motivation behind any work you think she has had done. So basically you've made up a story in your head to justify commenting on another person's physical appearance and are dressing it up as concern for their wellbeing without a shred of evidence.
The concern would be to what extent it's really their decision

Again a TOTAL assumption on your part there. You can't even be 100% certain that any procedures even took place, but now you're leaping to "Vince McMahon might be telling them to get loads of plastic surgery." Again, just a story you made up in your own head to give yourself a stick to beat someone you dislike.

I'm actually a big fan of Charlotte so it's nothing to do with a vendetta or wanting to have a dig at her. I'm on record here stating I would have been happy for to win at Mania. However, she's a role model to many young women yet she's increasingly beginning to resemble one of those living dolls in her early 30s. I feel it's important to call that out.

If you want to claim that it's an assumption she has gotten work done that's ok but given her own best friend has incorporated the surgeries into her promos I can think I can say confidently enough that they took place.

Now if you want to continue being disingenuous while alluding to some sort of misogyny/sexism on my part that's cool but I don't think there's much of a point in continuing the discussion if your angle is to pretend she hasn't gotten extensive work done on her face.

I'd be mortified. I'd probably run out and get plastic surgery.
