Simon Harris trying to shame people who are legally going to shops, allowed to open by his government.

    He's taking the Tory attitude.

    What is he saying?

What's happening today? Are there crowds turning up for Woodies and other hardware shops?

When other shops open up like clothes shops like pennies, next, and other shops, they will probably put on some sales to get rid of the winter stuff that didn't sell because of closures. People absolutely need to bear a responsibility here for themselves and think is getting into crowds a good idea? I wouldnt be seen any where near the opening of a shop or sale.

    Storing hand sanitizer in cars:

Something to think about going forward

Just thought it was interesting to see how much weight he lost, but I hadn't considered steroid use. Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?
Steroids are very dangerous for the heart. You only have to look at all the WWF fighters or athletes who died young of heart attacks from steroids misuse.

Covid 19 is also very dangerous for those with a weakened heart.

Steroids and covid 19, not a good combination!

Now, I don't know if that guy was on steroids or not, but aside from the fact that he looks like he's still in hospital, do you know what would make you shed a rake of kilos? A calorie-controlled liquid diet fed through a PEG. Do you know what would make you lose that much muscle tone? Being put in an induced coma for weeks on end. He was very fit. Imagine what that would do to a normal body.

He said "just because it’s open doesn’t mean we need to go" in part of a Tweet. Maybe he said something else, but if so, I haven't come across it yet. If that's all it was, it's a bit of a stretch to say that he's shaming people or acting like a Tory.

Don't think Woodies were inundated. There were queues at some at 8.30 - the usual "wanting to beat the rush", but seemingly they cleared quickly and no rush emerged.

I don't spend my free time trying to scare others for kicks and giggles, unlike others on these threads.

That's quite the accusation, I'm not getting kicks out of this. 'Scaremonger' is going getting thrown around by people who think it won't affect them and don't give a **** about people it will.

Please show me where I made an accusation against you.
As I said over 21,000 have recovered in this country. I'm sure you can check the age and health profile of those that passed on.

Not quite, yet, but hopefully a similar figure will be announced on Wednesday.

There is no such thing as a 'cold'. You need to come in contact with a virus.

Runny nose, plugged up ears, fatigue.

    sounds like hayfever

Have they read this list, and determined if they're on it or not? If they can justifiably claim to be on it, they can open. If they can't, they can't.

    https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/3736c7-government-approves-moving-to-phase-1-of-easing-covid-19-restriction/#list-of-retailers-that-can-open-on-18-may

What kind of businesses are they that they're unsure?

They have checked, various different types of business that aren't properly classified. They had some confidence in opening prior to the confusion caused by the change of plan on Friday. What a mess.

I wouldn't be one for diagnosing remotely, and I'm 100% not commenting on the OP's situation, but I have been struck in the past when having conversations with my American colleagues of how many of them suffer from "allergies", and how many of us Irish suffer from colds, yet the symptoms seem to be the same. I'm really not sure whether there's a commonality or whether we are really affected by seperate things due to environmental differences.

I guarantee the number recovered is way over 21,000. If we follow the same as Spain (5% with antibodies) it means we have had ~200,000 cases.

Italy just reported 451 cases and 99 deaths. Lowest cases since 3rd March.

No cure for common cold, multiple remedies pedalled for allergies, 2 1/2 billion dollar industry in US.

No wonder North Americans don't get 'common' colds.

I would imagine it's also related to what grows there compared to this country which is technically a desert with no forests at all.

There are places like Japan where they tried to manipulate nature by planting cedar trees and now it gives everyone hay fever.

    Time will tell I suppose.
We are lucky in the sense we can learn something from other countries methods.

Anabolic steroids can in some cases(the individual) cause issues with cholesterol. From heavy training alone parts of the heart become a little larger which in time can cause issues..

Compared to other over the counter drugs, testosterone taken in the right amounts cycled is not harmful and has been described as beneficial for some.

There is a long long list of anabolic, some taken by humans were destined for animals hence where we get the headline news stories.

Ironically many years ago I took a certain substance and it was manufactured in hubai China..

I would put my money on the stronger human beating this virus.. However after coming off a cycle a steroids it can be normal for people's imunes systems to be very very weak.

Don't do steroids....unless your being paid alot to win at a sport

It could be just the lighting. Plus the camera adds 10 pounds.

I wonder if the government model takes into account a second wave of infections. In Wuhan they started reopening stuff in March and then immediately rolled it back. There was a story covered by CNBC and others about them opening cinemas and immediately closing them because of outbreaks. (Though one can never trust what a communist government says)

My guess is that the last stage of restrictions will not be lifted until next year. This would mean bail-outs and other turmoil. Like hotels will be totally bankrupt.

Distribution of laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the EU/EEA and the UK, as of 18 May 2020 @ 08:00 hrs. CET

    novel-coronavirus-cases-EU-UK-2020-05-18.png?itok=1FHZUIRa

The UK seems to be contributing more than half of the daily cases in Europe.

The overall picture is of the pandemic tailing off after a peak around the start of April.

Same camera took both pics, so he's really 10 lbs lighter in both if that's the case.

The last stage of restrictions will never be lifted, even if a vaccine becomes widely available.
