Missed that, what did he say?

With respect your posting nonsense my friend.

Bunking down for a little while, as you say, until the virus disappears is fairytale stuff

If only it was that easy

Yes my friend I did mean you.

    What was your point so?

Sitting at home as you suggest simply wouldn't work my poor man.

You quite simply, and I don't mean to be rude, haven't a breeze..

I think most people wouldn't mentally be able to take another 2 weeks of this. Personally, I'm really struggling TBH.

We badly need optimism and a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. We were told a few weeks ago "5th May" "big effort to the 5th May" "Let's do it, 5th May". If they say, come Friday that they're extending it further again without any sort of lifting it will be terrible.

I think when this is all done and dusted there will be serious mismanagement discovered, especially regarding the nursing homes.

Questions about testing capacity and when are we going to get to the numbers of tests per week that have been promised - "We've been hearing this for weeks."

He asks legit questions, but he's really aggressive when he asks them.

It was mentioned earlier that it was from a survey. If that is true, then it's obviously not a secret leaked document.

    ---

I would like to hear what the plan is as well - but some people seem to think the government is somehow negotiating with the virus, and doing a bad job of it. They can't just lift everything at once because people are tired. So far we haven't really had a day where there was a really low number of cases.

Not really expecting anything to change on May 5th. If they changed the 2km limit that would be nice, but I'm not sure how much impact that would have.

Not complaining about their performance really just a bit of excitement at any chance of going back. I think ( to a certain extent) that they handled it reasonably well from the start.

.............just because he doesn't toe the National Broadcasters line? Thats why I like Independent radio ...... it means questions are asked.
Yesterday he asked why hospitals are empty and operations for NON Covid illnesses are not being done. The Galway Clinic is completely empty as we speak, not one patient, all operations cancelled, even urgent ones. He's dead right asking these questions. People will die from OTHER illnesses while we live in fear from Covid. Crazy stuff.

But the point he seems to ignore is that no one had any way of knowing how many bed would be needed and I would much prefer too many than too few

He had a doctor on later who stated that other cases were starting again so hopefully Ivan will give it a rest

He,s very critical of every aspect and just seems to think we should all get back to normal now

Welcome to Ireland the home of the indefinite half arsed lockdown. We have no plan we don’t know what criteria can give some lifting of restrictions.

Leo sitting waiting on Taoiseach Tony to decide what’s going to happen.

Tony trying to cover his own trail after messing up regarding nursing homes.

Simon Harris becomes more meaningless with every passing day.

Checkpoints seen for Easter disappeared for two weeks and then suddenly appear for Bank holiday weekend

Testing criteria changing like the weather.

Ramp up testing ramp up testing the mantra for weeks - Unachievable targets set.

The whole thing is a complete mess and getting more ridiculous.

The list is endless with nobody accountable for anything.

It’s a shame to see how shambolic the handling of this is.

Fergal Bowers asked that question, he's one of the better journalists.

Most of them are pretty hopeless.

The questions aren't pre submitted to the best of my knowledge. Some of them in recent days are pretty direct and the DOH don't know the answer.

Zara King springs to mind when she spend one while bringing having to be explained the same thing again and again and again. Yea he speaks alot of sense, it’s crazy how it someone could thing three questions are prearranged when they aren’t answered in alot of the cases.

Sorry that so many are totally frustrated. But the tone of the thread from many is OPEN UP NOW or we will all die of other things and go doo lally.

    Oh and the economy stupid.

Of course I want a road map, I want things eased a bit, but what I don't want is a return to the early very frightening days of rising cases and unbelievable death counts either.

Anyway, I'd be happy enough if construction, DIY/Garden centres, landscapers etc, can return first off with proper rules in place and enforced. Then a relaxation of the 2k distance. Then a nod to the cocooners that it's ok to go for a walk.

Slowly, with a bit of hope is the way to go, with a weather eye on other countries who are ahead of us.

No point in doing all this for 6 weeks if it is all destroyed within a few days.

We are in unprecedented times, and the vast majority are coping in order to protect themselves and their families/elderly relatives.

Rain on the way though.... might dampen enthusiasm for outdoor activities anyway for a week or so.

    This Friday.

The plan is to be released for easing of restrictions.

    Man up would ya.

You're been asked to do a few things for a few weeks.

Noone is asking you to go to fight in a war.

    Grow a set.

If Leo and his advisory committee could grow a set we all might have a chance of having a few jobs to go back to.

Well look at spain for example. Announced this evening all going well they'll be fully open by middle of June.

We'll be lucky to have even a first round of restrictions lifted at that point.

Ireland and the UK the last 2 in Europe to announce any sort of plan by the looks of it.

I certainly can. It’s pretty much a done deal by all the sound bites the last few days.

We have no one to make a decisive move. Fear of accountability has frozen all at the top table.

Hopefully we can get something positive for all.

Yeah as I said let's wait and see what they say Friday.

If it's nothing then let's have a go.

Can you wait a few days?

Ive went through at least 2 every day.

In and out of work every day and haven't been stopped once.

People flouted the rules and the authorities haven't done enough to stop them.
That's why we're facing increased lockdown time. But there's no point in doing it unless a different approach to enforcement is taken.
