Hey Judge Anonymous, you know the Gardai don't provide signed papers saying they searched your shopping bags. And no one has to provide video evidence of such to the court of public chat boards either.

The Gardai do check shopping bags...

And aren'r we glad they did: https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/1250328082763800577

Judge Anonymous?? What are you banging on about?

Your telling me this was the result of searching a shopping bag? Was this not at a check point?

Gardaí have seized a suspected €21,000 worth of cocaine following a routine traffic stop. There were two men in the car and the passenger, a man in his early 20s, got out of the car and fled on foot. He was seen placing a white package into a gap in a wall. The driver of the car, a man in his late 30s was given a roadside test which indicated the presence of opiates and cannabis.

    and another in Waterford

    https://www.wlrfm.com/2020/04/21/126898/
Gardai in Waterford recovered drugs worth over eleven thousand euro in the early hours of this morning.

The Waterford Drugs Unit were on mobile patrol in the Lismore Park area of Waterford City just after midnight and observed a male acting suspiciously.

He was spoken to and was searched and Gardai was searched in accordance with section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/16.

Gardai discovered a small bag of cannabis in his pocket.

In a further search 145 grams of cocaine was found in a large bag, valued at €10,150 and ketamine which weighed 26 grams, and is valued at €1560 was also discovered.

With so few people on the roads after business hours anyone who is out and about is basically asking to be stopped and searched.

For some bizarre reason the Gardaí in Balbriggan have been stopping cars on the Balbriggan side of Tesco, the busiest spot for local traffic going shopping. It's a spot that can be easily bypassed, which makes it especially pointless.

Last week they were checking cars going on
and off the M1, which makes far more sense.

    Why would they?
Of course, they are not open anyway, so no-one will be going to one.

    At least 4 open here.

    Near Tesco in rathfarnham too.

Similarly I don't understand why. Many people there would be shopping (or if not would be able to claim to be going shopping).

People have already done so & they won't do massive trade because they are imposing distancing. They are responsible people, that have always been able to open & providing a valuable service especially for people in urgent need.

A local Agri co-op place which has a large hardware/household/electrical/garden centre has been fully open since last Friday. Previously there was a barricade and were only selling essential items and passing them out at the door

They can still do a massive trade?

And you said 4 places, so they should be doing OK.
I don't get your point anyway?

I think he's just looking for an argument. Doesn't matter which side you are on, he will be against you

They've checkpoints at busy areas so more people will see them and the perception is there are checkpoints everywhere.

Its like there's no lockdown for a good amount of people. It's like having a pissing section down one end of a swimming pool. We may as well not even bother.

Absolute rubbish. You have both made it clear that you are Gardai. I have asked a very simple question as to whether Garden Centres & Hardware Stores were on your Essential Services list as I would guess that all Gardai are using the same list.

It's important to know, whether in the opinion & discretion of a Garda, people are allowed to travel to these stores.

If you see blatant abuses of the law, that clearly threaten social distancing, report it. I have just driven home & didn't see one example of anyone abusing the regulations.

I think the vast majority of people are being amazing & the Gardai have been saying the same thing.

Yep Gardai of course use the official list as provided by government.

You have bounced around and attempted to get us, for some reason, to answer a question that doesn't require answering. In Doing so you have again for some reason, continually alluded to some sort of 'garda list' and we have more than once directed you to the one and only list that exists. You then posted the entire thing without any content. Just the entire thing.

My opinion is that there is a government list. I'm unsure why this is such a hot issue with you and why you keep going after us over it nor do I know why you keep referring to a 'garda list'

I will leave it there. No point in asking a sensible question.

Maybe or simple misunderstanding. As I said if you see something that genuinely poses a risk then report it.

Please, ask a sensible question. All you are asking is the same one over and over that made no sense the first time

I was in Dublin city centre today and the guards appear to be happy to leave the Roma community do what they like on Moore Street.

Suppose they don't want to be called racist and do the same with our other ethnic minority...

The missus was stopped going to and coming from work today.
Meanwhile in Enniscorthy a local amenity is busier than it ever was as people drive to it,park up and go for a walk.Ignoring the rules completely and not a Garda seen.

Did you report it or feel that was unnecessary because Gardai can be everywhere at all times?

Didn't report it, Stevie Wonder could see the large amount of cars parked up. They sure aren't guests at the hotel there as it's closed. Lots of local people within walking distance have stopped using the walkway because of this.
There's been checkpoints near there but they were just checking traffic using the main road to and from Wexford.

No, he couldn't nor can a person with reasonable eye sight if they aren't physically there.

So no, you didn't is the simple answer. Fair enough, next time I want an ice cream I shall simple stay at home bemoaning the lack of ice cream men instead of going to buy one

It's not exactly in a remote area. I'm sure someone else has reported it anyway.
