Chemists have been ripping us off for decades now, all their christmases have come together now.

It’s not the pharmacies it’s the suppliers and manufacturers ! The cost is increased and passed onto pharmacy .

Unusual that England's figures haven't been released...I hope that's not an indication that it could be bad (or worse is probably a better word).

Stereophonic having a concert on 14th March in Cardiff can’t have helped

That's very harsh. I don't like their music either, but still!

Also, formation of a new Govt could be delayed for many weeks yet. Unlikely they would elect a new Taoiseach any time soon.

I wish people would stop posting incorrect figures. It's very annoying. Maybe check your stats before posting them. England has not yet released their figures for today.

The independent said it was 65 Irish doctors, and some were in senior positions.
According to the article they're all ready and have quit their jobs!

I don't think anyone would want all of the non Irish working in healthcare to quit their jobs and leave the country in this crisis, but if they've quit and want to go back to their own country then i'd understand that.

Its a nice gesture and all but theyve just taking someone elses place as a doctor in another country for 2+ years and then just decide to leave. If the foreign doctors in this country decided to go to their home country their would be uproar over them leaving.

All in all i think its a low move from irish doctors around the world.

see those 50 junior doctors in australia who were trying to get home last week to help the hse...and the flights were a fortune and they couldnt get over.
in that instance, couldnt the government get aer lingus to go over and get them ?....i see simon harris today saying aer lingus are going to china for supplies for the hse.

Just says they were leaving their jobs - didn't say they have quit?

They're on their way now anyway! Around 80 of them. Many of them got flights to London last night.....so back to Ireland now and they have to self isolate for 14 days.

The bit that boggles me (maybe it should not) is they freely admit it as if it is a badge of pride and not just these 2. Amazing how they are so sorry after getting caught and threatened with conviction or abuse

    Everyday the same questions arise
    - how many have we tested to date
    - how many were tested today
    - how many can we test each day
    - how many are waiting to be tested
    - how long are you waiting to be tested
    - how long are you waiting for results

And then when the numbers come out

Oh well the testing numbers dont mean anything anyway.

I’ve been saying for a long time that testing is Key, but people just want the headline of how many more are infected, when in the greater scheme of things that number is pretty irrelevant, inaccurate and misleading.

It's the Seanad election that is focusing minds. Without a full complement of senators it can't function and Leo can't nominate new senators so they need a new government and Taoiseach to do that.

The numbers appear to have been updated already.

234 new cases and 2 new deaths?

    From the HSE link.

They'll have to find some way around it. I doubt they will try and form a new government bang in the middle of a global pandemic and nationwide lockdown.

No rip off, you can thank the silly greedy ***** who were out bulk buying it for the increase in prices.

That doesn’t wash. Retail doesn’t or should work on a supply/ demand pricing model. Airlines do that.

If people are buying products in bulk from Chemists it would Allow them to lower their prices because the cost of idle stock Is less.

Chemists regularly charge a 700% mark up. They have always been a rip off.

Dail can function but needs Seanad. It's the Taoiseach's 11 nominees, which are the problem.
