Can you imagine if we all stopped voting? They’d have to listen. It’s a bit like being a conscientious objector.

Awful timing for SF this. The general election results are the last thing on everyone's mind right now. Current government handling it brilliantly, and I said that as a big critic of FG.

    :D:D:D

The door is the wooden thing in the wall so.

Give me any type of voter any day of the week to somebody who doesn't bother to vote at all.

It’s not a case of not bothering. It’s about believing that voting for gombeen men is the greatest crime a citizen can commit

What constituency are you in...let others see these 'gombeen men'.

Let's say nobody voted...name us a few 'non gombeen' who are fit to govern you?

Leo and the current government are going to bankrupt the Country while trying to save it and rightly so then sit back and let Mary and the shinners take over and see can they back up all they big talk that got them elected. Mary and the shinners will then find out how hard it actually is to run a Country in a recession.

That's more pathetic than it is funny, but that also makes it funny.
It's FG's safety net. Their go to 'josh' as best they can.
I am loving the desperation from the FG crowd. I literally mean, I am loving it.
I am after getting home tonight, and I was/am tired and sore, and a little depressed. Reading FG desperation tonight in general, not necessarily the above post, helps a little. But the above post on it's own did. It serves as a reminder of the certain types of people that are out there.

    And?

Francis , ML is either following up the idea of national government or she is not she shot down the idea at the very beginning . And a few days later - on radio- she fudged her answer when asked about the concept. I assume that she thought that it was better to be seen to be for it in principal but had some issues with the Greens understanding of it. As far as the media is concerned SF has made Zero effort to meet the Greens to see if the differences can be sorted out. Sitting on both sides of the fence comes to mind. SsF seems to be all over the place. Look at its understanding of the money in an escrow account in relation to Apple

Wanting all opinion aired in the Dáil (because it might be helpful and fair) and oversight of a government that the electorate rejected is not asking for a 'National Government'.

This is not the time for an arrogant 'the ball is ours FG' this is the time when everybody must be represented and all ideas and options are on the table.

Out of all the posts I have put on this thread with facts in them that you could have tried arguing against you ignore them as you can’t put up an argument to a fact you decide to put up a reply to a joke post . Good man . I dont see any desperation in here just people happy that a bunch of load mouth populist chancers are not running the country in this challenging time .

I didn't ignore them, I didn't see them. I only commented on the most recent posts I saw.

I couldn't be the slightest bit bothered to read through this thread to find a post that you suggest was better than that last attempt. I mean, to be fair you could have written a descriptive post of the sound somebody makes when they break wind, and it would have been better.

They are in a difficult position really, say something and they will be accused of politicking and won't be thanked when this is all over. They have honed in on the close the building sites a bit just to have something to say.

On the other hand, if this turns out to be over in a couple of weeks, handled well by the government and they have been completely absent they won't be thanked either.

What it comes down to is that posturing, politicking, well-paid advisors are little use when things get real.

It makes no difference to their supporters much like all die-hard supporters of all political parties, the party leaders could be sacrificing virgins and conducting black masses and the loyal supporter would still support them.

Last night she criticised FFG again.

Said we need to take the apple money.

And couldn't answer the question of what formation she wants when she says the people don't want FFG they want change.

Absolute waste of an interview and my time.

Sinn Fein can't win on boards can they? :pac: If they shut up and let the gov do their jobs (the right thing to do imo) people say they've vanished but if Mary Lou was on the radio every day there'd be people here complaining about that too.

I'd agree on the first but if they must have something to say let it be useful and not sounding like they just want to be heard. I'd say leave it to Mary Lou herself and certainly do not have the MoH in waiting doing rambling political point scoring or needing to sound like she's running the show.

Its not about winning on boards and that sum it up really its not about winning its about being serious about doing the correct thing.

The most interesting thing to me anyway is how all the posturing from all sides all political parties, is falling away, all the so-called characters from all sides, all the blustering, all the nonsense has mostly disappeared when things got real.
