    Sorry to hear this. I know of others in a similar situation!

    And yet some people seem to be falling over themselves to praise our government in their handling of this so far...

    I don't think we are getting the full truth of what is going on. These press briefings have more than a whiff of propaganda about them!

    Exactly, if people are that bad call an ambulance.

    Don't be waiting to be tested.

    Regardless of you have covid 19 or not you need medical care.

    People need to use their own initiative here too.

    So far the UK have tested over 90K people and plan on ramping up to hundreds of thousands a day.
    Do we we know how many tests have been done hereto in Ireland?

    what else would you suggest they do


    this hasn't happened before, no one can be prepared for this


    we are going to run out of ventilators and the drugs needed to manage patients on them unless we get lucky


    this is going to bugger the economy so they had to act in a reasonable manner


    They haven't done much wrong really, maybe forced quartining people coming back would be the main gripe

    I know people who have been referred for testing with symptoms matching that posters. The tests are cancelled now though with the new decision to cancel all outstanding tests.

    I agree with this. If you need medical attention get medical attention, it doesn't matter if you have a test, don't have test, are positive or negative. There is no cure for covid 19 so it doesn't make much difference to the individual if you are tested or not, just seek help if you need it like you would any other time.

    To be fair almost all western government held similar beliefs just a month ago..unbelievable but yeh thats what they all thought

    I want to keep my criticism of the gov/HSE to a minimum because we all have to get behind them in a time like this.

    Posts like this make it difficult for me though.

    GP called me this morning and said despite meeting criteria before i'm not priority now so won't be tested. I don't mind that too much as I know there's more high risk people than me out there. However, she said it's highly likely i have some form of respiratory tract infection but there's nothing really she can do for it, just continue to self-isolate. Fair enough, but I would've thought GP's could still prescribe antibiotics or are they afraid if it is COVID that i have that antibiotics would have adverse effects?
