Are people actually expecting him to turn up in prime condition? Beat a top 5 fighter? Earn a khabib rematch, outsmart him with a game plan?

If he is lucky I’d say he might make a good showing at this charity event. If he is lucky the charity event might happen and he can use it to say he did some good in his life.

Conor is looking at a Ricky Hatton type situation he lost to Diaz and managed to get a quick turnaround on a rematch winning it too but the boxing stuff took too much time and effort leading to the Khabib fight which didn't go according to plan a fresh return now against whomever ends in defeat again there's no coming back, if it ends as a win it'll have to be one hell of a scalp to boost Conor back to the top of the ranks facing the winner of Tony and Khabib.

Tony Ferguson would be a challenge on Conors best day it would be a great fight to see, Khabib would be a circus in Moscow too much controversy already but add the political nonsense that would spoil out and I can't see Dana White wanting anything of that. Khabib would win a rematch between him and Conor sad to say. Hopefully his comeback fight will be epic.

I was a huge fan and tbh I don't like the way he has acted for the past two or three years. He used to be funny and then he became just nasty like trying to be a bad mofo or something. I'm sure Dana White was behind all that but it's still not nice imo.

I don't hate him though and there are lots of worse guys in the UFC. I don't get how people get to a stage where they want to see a guy, who they really don't know, get the crap kicked out of him.

Maybe it's because I'm a casual UFC fan and not a die-hard but, I couldn't care less I'll be supporting him. His return should be fascinating to watch.

I think it's a bit of a leap to say Dana White is behind the change in him, it would look to me like McGregor let the money go to his head and always had a bit of a nasty streak.

Everyone will be watching the ones who pretend to care least for him will watch most with added investment, Say what you will but there is no better excitement in the UFC than a McGregor build up and fight night.

I also think you will see a much more funny side of Conor in lead up to what looks like will be the Cowboy fight, both of them will be good natured to each other. It will be more like the funny Conor from start of his ufc career.

Although I don’t think ufc can put a big event in the luzniki in Moscow towards end of year, it would be too cold. It would need to be indoors so a much smaller arena, or else summer in the luzniki which doesn’t really match up with a Conor plan.

Flip it in Dublin means go mad, not change the opponent. As in, the UFC would be pissed if he revealed the opponent, probably because they're trying to keep it quiet as leverage in negotiations. If Conor said who he's fighting, the UFC lose leverage.

I'm not so sure. IMO the pub incident was probably one incident too far for a lot of fans, it's hard to see him commanding anywhere near the same amount of hype or rabid support the next time around. Could be wrong obviously, but from the UFC's point of view it's all about the draw of fans to their events, and it remains to be seen whether the draw will still be there after everything that's happened to sully his reputation.

Let's wait and see what the buildup to the next fight is like. I'll still watch it but I can't imagine it attracting the same kind of intense media frenzy they have in the past. Whether that means the UFC will no longer consider him their jewel in the crown remains to be seen. At the end of the day, someone could be the best fighter and put on the most entertaining bouts in the world, but if people aren't buying PPVs because of other factors, all the UFC will see is a former cash cow.

It’s good to see Conor back drinking the finest of Ethiopian coffee. The Proper 12 whiskey can wait until the post fight press conference.
I think this is a new and improved Conor we have witnessed in Moscow. Roll on 2020 and the glory it will bring.

I don't think his popularity and ability to draw numbers will be affected too much. If he fights in the next 6 months, I'd say his PPV buys will still be well above any one else in the UFC.

I’d say his popularity is near zero. People will tune in though, the question isn’t whether they want him to lose, it’s what they want to happen to him.

He'll still pull big numbers as people will either want to see if he's still good and watch the comeback, or want to see him get a beating.
Either way, they'll be paying.

There was a huge growth in sales of Irish whiskey in the US and at the same time a slow down in growth of the biggest seller Jameson.

I doubt he will be fighting anytime soon, but by saying he will he gets the media machine of MMA, from the UFC to podcasters, licking up to him and the for the attention and money he brings, and this is a good distraction from other stories which have been popping up

How on earth do you know it's highly unlikely he can beat the best.
I have my own opinion on who I'd fancy would beat him but the man has won titles at two weights, he hasn't had many tough fights so his body should be in good shape.
For all the not nice stuff he does he has never been one to make up excuses for a loss. It looked pretty evident to me that he was injured going into the Khabib fight but he has never mentioned it to the best of my knowledge.
Anyways its a wait and see time, he seems to want to come back..He has had a nice break and as we've seen recently, with Nate and the California kid, a break can be very good for you.

McGregor is bigger than MMA that is a fact. He's the most watched fight, the most money made, biggest gate, most ppv sold , most google searches, first double champ fighter ect Hes the biggest story this week an he has 2 fights in 3 years
