    Joe told the RTE Guide: “I wouldn’t be where I am without Gay, end of...My first day on air as a reporter, he told me ‘Chat like it’s just you and me, with the banter we have.’ We still have that banter -] he still texts me while I’m on Liveline letting me know I’m talking too fast, too slow or I’m interrupting too much.”

    That must be an old quote. Or else Gay doesn't listen to Liveline.

    Classic Duffy - contractor when it suits him - 99% of the time btw like when it comes to his fees or tax avoidance - but a poor humble civil servant doing God's work and "doesn't even get paid sick leave" when he breaks de leg and dat.

    Newstalk apparently did at the height of de boom when it was really struggling to get a big name to join them. They had a lucky escape.

    How truly lucky we are to live in an era when the great man has walked among us and chosen the public good and service to the people in the form of his caller driven show rather than stoop to pocket the filthy dollar.. Truly the man has done the state some service and continues to do so in his humble modest way. A modern day Saint is among us and we are blessed

    in the 90s alan p christmas special was a parody of this product placement, book promotion etc.
