Some of the stand out sets for me over the years.
    Midlake (2011)
The Cure / Mark Lanegan (2012)
    M.B.V. / Johnny Marr (2013)
Ash / Car Seat Headrest (2017)

Mogwai (2014), (made better by Perfume Genius and Francois & the Atlas Mountains finishing up)
    Belle & Sebastian (2015)

Lost Vagueness was one of the most bizarre places ever to grace the festival circuit. I remember seeing a naked trapeze act in there once. Also saw Chumbawumba there at Glasto once. I really miss LV.

Sky Arts had a huge documentary feature on the founders of LV a while back. Some excellent archive footage of pre-Security Fence Glastonbury and a bunch of Rather Angry Gentlemen kicking the sh*t out of it and storming in. Didn't realise that someone was shot and killed at The Other Stage in 1994.

First time seeing Father John misty and young fathers in 2017.

Sigrid was pretty special last year.

    Loved the Strokes this year.

Ah ffs lads I really should have included Massive Attack (2018) in my list.
It was my first time seeing them despite being a fan for 30 odd years.
Anyone catch them at earlier Picnics? How did the sets compare?

They only played once previously. Can't remember the year. Main stage in the p1ssing rain. I couldn't take it any more and being the soft one I am headed for the tents. A good few on this thread stayed and maintain the rain added to it.

Three times, 2006 with Liz Frazer, 2010 (downpour) and 2018.

I stand corrected. I remember Liz Fraser singing Teardrop now ... a special moment.

I'm tooting for nick cave back in 2004.

I recall it being incredibly sunny, I was drinking white wine by the contour bottleful.... And Mr cave was in electric form.

Was that not the two dayer or two and a half dayer in 2005, opened on Friday for campers but main arena opened Saturday and Sunday, Nick Cave played Sunday night.

Had a gleek at SetlistFM for Massive Attack's EP appearances:

    Massive Attack, Electric Picnic 2006

    Massive Attack, Electric Picnic 2010

    Massive Attack, Electric Picnic 2018

Reckon 2010 would have been incredible of those I missed. I'm still rating the 2018 set as in my top 5 EP Experiences.

Yeah, someone was trying to talk to me through it...had to tell them I'd speak after! Didn't feel guilty either.

Oh man, what a set that was. First I'd even heard of them, took a chance and wasn't disappointed.

Yeah, brilliant stuff. My last gig of the weekend, went off on a high. My 10 year old still puts on Drunk drivers/ Killer Whales. Did you get a tshirt, Rubick? Didn't they fire a few out at the start?

The Cure my favourite EP gig. Honourable mention for La Femme a couple of years ago, David Byrne and Annie, Band of Horses, J5, Eels, Benjamin Clementine (first time round) and and and...

Nice mention of band of horses... I still smile thinking about that gig....

Only started going in 2013 - As a young fella I couldn’t believe my eyes. I went basically for David Byrne.

    David Byrne & St.Vincent (2013)
    Young Fathers (2014)
    Tame Impala (2015)
    LCD (2016) first time!!

None from 2017 - probably FJM. I haven’t been back since. See how things plan out.

I'd love for the war on drugs to come back!

Quite a few favourites but I didn't want to narrow it down any more than this!
2010 - The National; first time I caught them live and it blew my mind. Still my favourite band to this day.
2011 - Arcade Fire; Suburbs tour, still love the stage set up. Have seen them loads since (and a few times before, though not 2005 - too young!) but I don't really recall such energy and enthusiasm at any of their other shows since.
2011 - Pulp; Jarvis is such a showman. Magic.
2011 - John Grant; a powerful performance from a great performer.
2014 - Portishead; this was just super. The best I can remember on the main stage.
2014 - Young Fathers/Tune-Yards on Body & Soul. The former are one of the most exciting live bands in the world IMO; the latter was flying that night too.
2015 - Blur - actually this might have been the best I've seen on the main stage.
2015 - The War on Drugs - super. Long overdue a return.
    2015 - Future Island - Ibid.
2015 - Jape, Girl Band... Man 2015 was an absolute cracker.

Caught them in 2006, very flat.
2010 was the worst rain I've ever seen a band have to endure at the main stage. I scarpered to the New Pornographers (excellent ending to a festival).
Loved them in 2018, you got lucky, probably the best set they did there.

Probably Stillill42 with his rain fetish.

Beck in 2014 was one of the very best sets for me. It was just a big party and he was on super form.

Outkast we're good after him, but not as good.

Leftfield in 2010 was a bit of a moment for me too.

Grandaddy in 2012? I think too.they had a woeful slot at 6 on Friday but were super.

All three were stunning. Missed Outkast and the drizzle for Mogwai in a dry tent.

Ah hey lads, huge regret now at missing that. Only solace is that Father John Misty was sensational. Get them both back.

Stunning. And only 80/90 there, all swooning.

Scruff is a bigger fan of his return gig.

Best ever EP gig for me has been David Byrne & St Vincent. An all-time classic

Father John Misty was also sensational at All Together Now this summer. On flying form despite losing his luggage and performing to a small crowd (at the start) in the pouring rain.

Highlight of the weekend for me. He's always worth a look.

Also how could I forget Modeselektor 2008 in the Bodytonic tent up where Freetown was this year.

    That was special.

I am not a big fan of the albums but that was something special. I thought he was amazing. Didn't think much of his EP set a few of years ago.

Loved it though pals were unimpressed. His ironic wit is so dry that it's easily mistaken for arrogance. Some of which he undoubtedly has. I love that he gives his all at his gigs, a little bit akin to a hipsterish Nick Cave.

Fair few decent acts up for the Mercury Prize tonight, ten of the twelve I'd welcome to Stradbally.

And my forecast is for Slowthai to grab it. Would love the Fontaines to steal in though, about time we had a Mercury winner.
