Sky Arts had a huge documentary feature on the founders of LV a while back. Some excellent archive footage of pre-Security Fence Glastonbury and a bunch of Rather Angry Gentlemen kicking the sh*t out of it and storming in. Didn't realise that someone was shot and killed at The Other Stage in 1994.

First time seeing Father John misty and young fathers in 2017.

Sigrid was pretty special last year.

Loved the Strokes this year.

Ah ffs lads I really should have included Massive Attack (2018) in my list.
It was my first time seeing them despite being a fan for 30 odd years.
Anyone catch them at earlier Picnics? How did the sets compare?

They only played once previously. Can't remember the year. Main stage in the p1ssing rain. I couldn't take it any more and being the soft one I am headed for the tents. A good few on this thread stayed and maintain the rain added to it.

Was that not the two dayer or two and a half dayer in 2005, opened on Friday for campers but main arena opened Saturday and Sunday, Nick Cave played Sunday night.

Beck in 2014 was one of the very best sets for me. It was just a big party and he was on super form.

Outkast we're good after him, but not as good.


Leftfield in 2010 was a bit of a moment for me too.

Grandaddy in 2012? I think too.they had a woeful slot at 6 on Friday but were super.

Quite a few favourites but I didn't want to narrow it down any more than this!

2010 - The National; first time I caught them live and it blew my mind. Still my favourite band to this day.
2011 - Arcade Fire; Suburbs tour, still love the stage set up. Have seen them loads since (and a few times before, though not 2005 - too young!) but I don't really recall such energy and enthusiasm at any of their other shows since.
2011 - Pulp; Jarvis is such a showman. Magic.
2011 - John Grant; a powerful performance from a great performer.
2014 - Portishead; this was just super. The best I can remember on the main stage.
2014 - Young Fathers/Tune-Yards on Body & Soul. The former are one of the most exciting live bands in the world IMO; the latter was flying that night too.
2015 - Blur - actually this might have been the best I've seen on the main stage.
2015 - The War on Drugs - super. Long overdue a return.
2015 - Future Island - Ibid.
2015 - Jape, Girl Band... Man 2015 was an absolute cracker.

Caught them in 2006, very flat.
2010 was the worst rain I've ever seen a band have to endure at the main stage. I scarpered to the New Pornographers (excellent ending to a festival).
Loved them in 2018, you got lucky, probably the best set they did there.

All three were stunning. Missed Outkast and the drizzle for Mogwai in a dry tent.

Father John Misty was also sensational at All Together Now this summer. On flying form despite losing his luggage and performing to a small crowd (at the start) in the pouring rain.

Highlight of the weekend for me. He's always worth a look.

I am not a big fan of the albums but that was something special. I thought he was amazing. Didn't think much of his EP set a few of years ago.
