    Reported this morning, https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/two-men-arrested-after-handguns-and-ammunition-seized-in-west-dublin-932596.html

Collecting the other half yesterday evening took the clonsilla backroads, over the bridge towards Lucan 6.20pm no issue. On the way back road closed Armed Garda (jeep) blockade directly outside Luttrelstown castle at the bend coming from Westmanstown. Presumed it was a crash, due to the heavy rain so detoured down by strawberry beds, other cars forced to do the same.

No crash then but an interception! It's like the wild west out there

They are part of the corduff gang. Were in a stolen car too, obviously going to whack someone.

On another note i was walking back from the shop yesterday. A large group of teenagers hanging about making gang signs, They all got on the 38 bus then heading to tyrrelstown.

What's a gang sign? Like a big placard saying 'We're in a gang!"?

So they were waiting on a bus and making what you think were gang signals. How do you know what a gang signal looks like, surely only the gang members would recognise the signals? Non-story really, just perpetuating the notion that all teenagers are criminals or up to no good.

He's not 'perpetuating' anything, what he is doing is simply relaying something he has seen.

You seem to be the one here with the agenda.

It's nothing to take out of context....

Just because others don't see it doesn't make it any less true.....

I've seen these big gangs myself and they go around in huge number s

Gangland style shooting in Castlecurragh Heath this afternoon, car found burned out somewhere in Huntstown not long after. A man reported to be seriously injured as a result, no names or suspected affiliations mentioned in the media as yet.

Just another beautiful day in the 'wicka wicka wild wild west' .

Embassy is in Ballsbridge! The new Ambassador (who lives in the Phoenix Park) had his official 4th of July reception for VIPs last night instead of tonight for some reason. Not a rehearsal, a reschedule.

A loaded gun I think. I can only imagine if my 5 year old had found it him and his friends would have thought it was fake and prob would have played with it.

That was my thinking too, these fu*ckers don't care at all. No respect and apparently the man who was shot was a case of mistaken identity.

A 5 year old with a loaded gun maybe thinking it was a toy, could have ended up very badly. Thankfully not.

The chopper was around earlier too, sick of all this gangland crap now.

No, The ASU mostly down to showing a presence due to the ongoing gangland crap.

No the Commissioner's arrest was reported to be much earlier in the evening and involved a single erratic driver.

Have you brought this to the attention of the Community Garda assigned to your area?

Or walk up to the car and ask if they need help. It lets them know you've noticed them.

Not everything that happens is reported on. At least half the incidents in this thread are personal reports of neighbourhood incidents. Links are the exception!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,507 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Agreed. A lot of what happens is low level anti social behaviour, cars being damaged, bikes taking a walk etc. They won't interest the Guards let alone the media, but knowing might save some people hassle and insurance problems.
