Bit naive no? Giraffe and Links are still operating post undercover RTE expose. They (chain from last night) do also have staff (and other creches) who weren't guilty of the behaviour the owner was. Why would they close?

I'd be sceptical that policies in one weren't refected in others with a chain if I had a child in any of them.
That being said, I'd also be chatting to my child about what they have for lunch, do children get upset and do the workers get mad and would factor that in also.

    Why would they close?

Because no responsible parent would continue to leave their child in their care, perhaps?

Except they're still open, I guess there must be loads of irresponsible parents so? Or perhaps they are better informed of their child's treatment than you or I, in the particular creche they're in.

If they did decide to close, where exactly would the parents be dropping their kids this morning? Maybe some parents simply don't yet have an alternative.

The two other creches previously investigated are still operating, they must be super brazen!

better informed? If any parent saw the PT show last evening, and said to themselves "Well, yes that's abuse, but I know better because the owner reassured me ", you'd have to question that person's maturity or responsibility, yes. Perhaps some parents are temporarily leaving their kids in their care because they have yet to find a replacement, I cannot fathom how any parent can choose to retain their custom.

Brazen doesn't come close to describing the behaviour of that creche, it's too flippant a word.

You do there's lots of the kids in this chains creches can actually speak? It was stated last night that they cater for kids up to 12, the majority of the kids shown last night would not be capable of doing so. Should be fairly easy to fathom how a parent could establish that their child isn't being mistreated, by you know, talking to them.

The whole reason why people are sensitive to child abuse is because children tend to acquiesce to seniority, and can't always tell when what an adult is doing is wrong.

That's the whole reason why bad people sometimes think it's OK to hurt little kids. They expect to get away with it.

I think it's the easiest to mistreat the youngest kids who are unable to verbalize what's happening. They are also the hardest to take care of I would guess the practices around preschool kids are a lot better because they can tell parents what's going on.

The lady in her mid-60's talking about feeling ignored in public was interesting I thought. I don't think it is just older women who suffer in that way but society has changed that even though we seem to meet more people and travel to many more places than we would have done in the past, we seem to engage with less.

The guy who is 5ft 5 and finds women aren't keen on him was also interesting as Ciara pointed out several times that if it was guy saying that he had no interest in dating a size 14 or 16 that there would be uproar over it.

Didn't hear the bit about the toast. Sounds class. I must check the podcast. ;)

    She's been fine all week.
Did hear her say this morning that she was nervous about the anything goes of today's show.
    I didn't hear the show.

    She wasn't grand at all.

There's no point asking someone a question if you're not going to listen to the answer and keep cutting off your guest.

    It makes for horrible radio.

With all the umming and cutting off it took me awhile to realize it wasn't actually Ciara.

If you're filling in for someone you don't have to become them.

But they might be cut from similar cloth.

    .

when the responses are from the slow tediuous drawl of gereatrics, then yes, she needs to cut across them to hurry the feck up or to ask another questions...

    it was mind numbing stuff

I was listening to Pat Kenny yesterday morning before I went into a meeting. When I got back into the car, Ciara Kelly was talking to some fella, a psycho therapist no less, who was complaining about the homeless crisis.

The psycho therapist fella stated, and was not pulled up on it by the presenter, that "tonight 10,000 people will sleep under a bridge".

He also said that he treats a lot of women who are living in hotels.

Now I'm not sure about you, but if I was homeless, instead of paying some gobsh1te €100 an hour to tell my woes to, I would be putting that towards finding a decent place to rent.

Didn't hear it but certainly shouldn't have been let say 10k are under a bridge.

    There's varying degrees of homelessness.

Keeping on top of mental health could prevent a bad situation getting worse.
Do you think all therapists are gobsh*tes?

Heard a lady yesterday who had had cancer and went in to depression as a result of it.
She then used beating cancer as a motivation to try to live her best life.

Thought she sounded like a very positive person.
Might be someone someone either themselves or someone they care about suffering with or after cancer might take something from if they heard it.

10000 people sleeping under a bridge???

What the hell was he on about, was he even talking about Ireland?

Anyway this is the sort of far left nonsense Newstalk pumps out ad nauseam, that's why I turned the dial and I ain't turning back!

I don't listen to Ciara Kelly as often anymore because caller driven programmes bore me (I switch the moment I hear Joe Duffy) but every so often a complete nut job makes it entertaining. Apparently childminders should be vetted by how they voted in abortion referendum.

Kelly let him go on and said "I hear you" and "I agree with you" a number of times. Even after he said that 10,000 people would be sleeping under a bridge.

And no I dont think all therapists are gob****es, but this psycho-therapist certainly was one.

Yes I was screaming at the radio!!!

She is so gullible and impressionable.

I hear you, I hear you, look I don’t disagree with you blah blah.

These lies need to be pulled up.

Ciara had a guest on today discussing the appalling attack on the young muslim girl, l thought he was a rather odd choice given his views on female genital mutilation.

Yes and all she does is tell those texters with an opposing view that they are idiots, the female Moncrief

Dreadfully intolerant woman, anyone who thinks something as utterly harmless as the rose of tralee needs to be torn down has serious anger issues

I was listening recently when she was talking about climate change, or more specifically about the "Green New deal" (and how wonderful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is) when she said we have ten years to sort things out or "the planet will explode", she didn't even say she had exaggerated in any way, she stated this as fact. Made me pine for Ciara Kelly.

    Glazers Out!
