Because he's being selected to play by the selectors who might know 'collectively' a small bit more about football than us keyboard warriors?

When has he ever played a good game for Cork?

Hopefully if we get a performance and be competitive and look like we could win it then it wouldn't be a bad start for the way the state football is in the county at the moment.

Now that's a different question and my answer for what it's worth is .......he's no worse than most of this defensive set up. I really cannot think of anybody else
that would improve the defence, but perhaps you have somebody in mind?

both defences looking poor, need to get the ball to Hurley as quick as possible. could do with bringing on his brother too

Cork 1-4 Kerry 1-10 at half time

Happy enough with that.Awful start but we came back a bit.We had a load of chances but a few bad wides. Ref has been poor and not helped us at all but once we keep battling thats the best we can hope for.

Yes the defence parts like the red sea sometimes but if we can keep them to under 10 points in the win then it will be progress at least. We have to be realistic and they are way ahead of us but we are at least doing a few bits alright. We need to take any chances we get and try to keep it a bit close.

Both teams look like they will get goals

Kerry's full back line will keep it interesting.
    Sullivan causing us havoc.
Hurley is capable of causing huge problems.
Deane is relatively quiet, bar his goal chance.

here we go, slowly being drawn back into believing we can win.

I’m sorry but that was a wide ball from where I’m sitting

    Thought it was wide too.

Kerrigan has been very poor today. The one day we really needed him to be on form

much, much better. hopefully a favourable draw for the qualifiers

Of course they are, Kerry won.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,400 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Not sure how it happened but Kerry look like they had a player advantage rather than Cork.

Happy with that as we strangely could have won with a bit more luck with the goal chances. The ref was very poor today. Gave them every 50-50 and it seemed like the red card was only given due to the linesman.

That was a massive improvement on previous games and only a goal in it at the end. Really only 2 points as that point was definitely wide!! We just fell away at the end.Really good to see us at least competing again.Thats the best we could have hoped for. They put a bit of pride back in the jersey.

A very spirited performance, particularly the second half.
Kerry's defence is really fully of holes and we should have taken more of an advantage from that.

Ref rode Cork tonight to be fair.

Gaa play the winning teams song after a final, it's hardly a new thing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,592 ✭✭✭eigrod

So close. That point definitely looked wide and that free Kerry got,was it their 3rd last point where ref played advantage, there was absolutely no free there. Cork had 3 dreadful shots late on and self belief clearly an issue tonight. All in all, a very very good performance though.

He was certainly more favourable to Kerry, the free against Cork for a slow kickout could easily have been another against Kerry but wasn't given. Small things can make a big difference.

in Croke Park fair enough but playing the away teams song is a new one for me

Ya some very favourable calls for Kerry but sure that's always been the way..

Spirited performance from Cork but as usual seem to lack that bit of composure in front of goal..

Think it was brought in for all finals, we might see tomorrow.

In the first half. the ref had a hand up for advantage for Cork and the Cork player went in on goal and hit it wide as his jersey was pulled but he just gave the free from the earlier foul. Then in the second we actually hit it into the net after he didn't allow enough advantage. Feel like we were so close to getting a good result!! That's why its a hard one to take yet its great to see us competitive and playing good football in parts.

If we now just work on the poorer areas we might actually be going somewhere! Seems like we are going in the right direction at least.
