I really can't figure what that whole episode was about.
    That chap got bail

Why would they arrest such a major figure on such small charges. Something does not add up here.

    He's tagged though

looks like they made a huge mess of the whole thing, I'd say they got faulty information and jumped the gun, such a massive police/gardai operation and just a wobbly stun gun charge? disaster.

I'd say they were delighted to get the stun gun. They weren't expecting to find a big stash of guns, money or drugs so were most likely looking to get at paperwork or computer / online records. The stun gun was a bonus and allows them to keep him locked up for a while. At that level it's all about disruption and creating paranoia.

Odds on there'll be a significant seizure of Kinahan drugs or guns very shortly in an 'intelligence led' operation. By default the Kavanaghs will be at least suspected of providing that intelligence.

Wonder have the Guards eased off on the gangland surveillance lately as it was fairly quiet for a long time but the shootings have kicked off again lately.

No respect for life. No respect for anything.

And worse still, I'm still not convinced people realise how sinister this is. We have a dangerous, dangerous attitude of "not on my doorstep, not my problem", or "he must have deserved it" if it's someone the papers describe as "known to Gardai".

Keep that going at your peril and see how it works out.

This is disgusting and absolutely everyone should be concerned this is happening in our community this frequently.

Do you realize how hard it is to actually stop these hits? The shooter holds the weapon for about ten seconds and it passes along through numerous hands before it’s dumped. Nearly impossible to stop it .... if they keep getting the “ right” man , they will weed themselves out..

He's been shot more than once. Around 2007/8 outside Carlisle.
