This really is an unprecedented run of games for the test players. Good to see but some of the fringe guys are going to be disappointed.

It would appear the writing is on the wall for Taute.

He's currently listed as injured. Bone bruising around his uninjured knee apparently.

Much stronger team that I was expecting. That's 7 starts in a row for POM and Conway and 5 for Stander. Maybe they're not going to the US nest week, but Carbery and Beirne are.

So Carbery and Beirne only players named for Ireland left out. Very surprised how strong that squad is. Big game and know players will be rested for Italy match but even still!

I never used the card wallet, can have a look and see if I have one spare?

In addition to the gloves which do work with a smartphone, I'd like to at least have gotten an air freshener as the one I have hanging up has lost its scent and is severly faded

    That would be great thanks!

We got the air freshener instead of a car sticker that year. People weren't happy and they went back to the car stickers

Light enough cover for our back row but we're bringing four Outhalfs and no Billy Holland - Billy will be a huge loss from a leadership pov alone.

My guess for the squad to face Cheetahs:

    1. James Cronin, 2. Kevin O’Byrne, 3. Stephen Archer,
    4. Darren O’Shea, 5. Jean Kleyn,
    6. Sean O’Connor, 8. Arno Botha, 7. Chris Cloete,
    9. Alby Mathewson, 10. Ian Keatley,
    11. Alex Wootton, 12. Rory Scannell, 13. Sammy Arnold, 14. Shane Daly,
    15. Mike Haley.

    Replacements:
    17. Jeremy Loughman, 16. Mike Sherry, 18. John Ryan,
    19. Fineen Wycherley, 20. Gavin Coombes,
    21. Duncan Williams, 22. Tyler Bleyendaal, 23. JJ Hanrahan.

    Reserves:
Ciaran Parker, Neil Cronin, Bill Johnston, Liam Coombes.

Has Wycherley not played at 6 for us before? Wonder will he cover there.

Really need to not ship injuries on this little mini tour

Coombes at 6/8 I d say. Was very impressive in preseason and has been outperforming Sean O’Connor so far for the A side.

Tyler will be captain this weekend. Great to see him back.

On the rehabilitation front, Sammy Arnold who was removed from the Glasgow game for a HIA is following return to play protocols.

Dan Goggin has seen a specialist and will continue his rehab under the guidance of the medical department for the next number of weeks, while Tommy O’Donnell and Rhys Marshall are being treated for respective medium-term ankle and hamstring injuries.

Due to personal reasons Billy Holland did not travel to South Africa.

After arriving in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon the squad commenced their preparations for Sunday’s Round 9 Guinness PRO14 encounter against Cheetahs with their first field session earlier this morning.
With the inclusion of Tyler Bleyendaal in the 27-man travelling squad, Head Coach Johann van Graan confirmed that Bleyendaal will captain the side on his return to action this Sunday. Tyler featured for Munster A in the Celtic Cup earlier this month after completing his rehabilitation from neck surgery last March.

Commenting on Bleyendaal’s return van Graan said, “It’s brilliant to have him back. He played 30 minutes for the A team against Leinster a few weeks ago and we have been monitoring him the whole time, he is itching to go. He will start this weekend and he will also be the captain, something he has done before for Munster. It’s great to have him back in a leadership role and it’s great to have a quality player back who has been out for a really long time.”

The following players are progressing with rehabilitation: Jaco Taute (knee), Stephen Fitzgerald (foot), Liam O’Connor (knee), Conor Oliver (toe), Jack O’Donoghue (knee), Dave O’ Callaghan (foot), Conor Murray (neck), James Hart (knee), Chris Farrell (knee), Ronan O’Mahony (ankle), Calvin Nash (ankle).

Due to personal reasons Billy Holland did not travel to South Africa.

The 27-man squad can be found here.

    I'd go for:

J Cronin, KOB, Ryan, Kleyn, DOS, Kleyn, Wycherley, G Coombes, Cloete, Botha,
Mathewson, Bleyendaal, Wootton, Scannell, Arnold*, Daly, Haley

Sherry, Loughman, Archer, DOS, SOC, N Cronin, Johnston, JJH

Absent: Parker, Williams, Keatley, L Coombes

If Arnold is still under RTTP you could push Daly into 13 or put one of the flyhalves at 12.

At least Tyler will get the play outside Matthewson

    It's an odd one.

I think there was an element of tribalism and siege mentality when it came to defending Grobblers recruitment and selection.

On the other hand Kimmage has a bitterness on this topic that has moved him from a reporter to an activist and beyond. He can't help himself and he goes way too far which ultimately dilutes his campaign against drugs in sport. It's reached the stage where his exuberance has left him largely irrelevant and he is growing more extreme as he slowly recognises that fact.
