Wonder tomorrow will Matt and Ivan play good cop/bad cop with tomorrows debate?

The presenter pushing Peter Casey and Gavin Duffy to say how much tax theye paid was borderline embarassing, It really was a brutal performance by the presenter letting Micky D get away with murder while asking the other candidates out of context questions with no relevance to the presidency

I don't think anyone came out of that debate as a winner tonight.

They all lost something, but MDH probably lost the least.

LNR has given the media the thing to hound her for the next 7 months til the Euros. Stupid lie to be caught out on. People are posting about her MEP expenses on twitter, car crash stuff from her.

The other four were fairly meh.

Depends which ones you are talking about, the ones advising the government are getting well paid.

It's obv i'm not talking about teachers, nurses etc.

Teachers and nurses are not civil servants...

    No-one is criticising his sexuality.

He is being rightfully taken to account for his deceit.

His sexuality is his business. Being in public life doesn't mean every aspect of his private life should be public.

His sexual is irrelevant to his ability to carry out the role of president.

Fwiw I'm not a MDH voter

If he was a bit more polished and articulate he would have a great chance

    I think it's his strength.

We've had enough of coached, experts of spin that talk lots to get themselves in the news but say little and commit to even less.

Casey the winner tonight. As I said earlier, the 2 ladies were desperate to seem relevant, the 2 lads were spoofers and MDH should probably have stayed home this time as well.

You must have watched a different debate did you?

MDH evaded, pontificated, and got cranky when pressed (too rarely) on specifics

He was unfit to be president last time (only winning because of Gallagher's twitter issues) and he's even more unfit now

I agree with your first point. He performed badly. He'll still win by a landslide.

I disagree that Twitter scuppered Gallagher. He was behind MDH regardless and highly unlikely to win. He was the FF man and got the FF vote. It wasn't enough. He had little else to offer.

You're joking? He was the best part of the debate I thought. He was bloody hilarious. And called everyone up on their bull****...kept repeating the question when the candidates were trying to avoid a direct answer. (like Liadh Niada trying to say €70k is the average salary  ) His audible sighs and directness were a breath of fresh air to be honest.

    What show where you watching?

How many question did MDH answer directly, and how many times was he asked to answer the question put to him instead of deflecting?

How many questions did all 6 candidates answer - MDH not asked about his taxes, or anything.

He asked your one a question about Pieta House and she shot him down so he simply moved on, if the question was put to him to ask her, if must have been ok and so should he not have forced her to answer it instead of allowing her to deflect away from it?

He was way out of his depth in that debate and in fact, he was so bad that I wouldn't even call what we witnessed a debate.

    Very honest from Casey there

Seemed like the most honest, genuine answer in fairness. And then Freeman copying his answer, f*cking hell, such leadership.

Apart from MDH and Casey, there's not one thing personable about the other four candidates. I must admit I'm starting to quite like Casey, and not just for his infamous comment.

Having watched that I'm really not sure if I'll bother voting. Now I probably will but only out of a sense of obligation as I really don't care about any of them. None of them represent me. I don't feel any of them deserve my vote. If something else comes up that delays me on the night I wouldn't be upset not to vote. It's just pointless.

What's the lowest turnout in history for a national vote? I wonder if Paddy Power has odds on the turnout being less than 30%

So you think a person who pretends to be in a relationship with their so called partner for 50 years, all the while actually in a relationship with someone else, is worthy of the title head of state?

    Spineless.

As I've said earlier, I think MDH is unfit to be president, but his sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Not sure where you're trying to go with this, but it's irrelevant in any case.

Why he's with his wife is his own business. I really don't see how his rumoured (and that's all it is) preference for cock is at all relevant to his ability to carry out the role of President.

I won't be voting for him, but that's for other reasons.

In any case, the whole notion is too ridiculous to continue discussing

Jesus Joan Freeman is horrifically negative and whingy.
The three "dragons" have been anything but buddies tonight and there positioning was as a result of a draw.
