Just spoke to the owner of a big charity shop there about any crts.

Brought me round the back. And had a few widescreen ones there for €10. He told me to drop in regularly and see because they get recycled if they don't sell. I saw the container of them then....spotted 2 lovely sony 19" 4:3 monitors all wet and wrecked on the top :(

CEX do it for €5 on the 360 and €8 for ps3. Well worth a go, shame they never did more with the IP

I have a D.I.D on my commute home that I walk by every day. People leave electronics for recycling to one side of the entrance. Same as that, I'm constantly seeing lovely looking CRTs left out to the elements. Wish I had the space to save them all!

I've had to cut back quite a bit unfortunately! :( Sold off my 1084S and BVM1454D a while ago.

Am currently left with two production monitors (BVM 2016P and PVM9L2) and then the two 25 inch Toshibas in my cabs - doesn't feel like enough!

Really would like one of those nice big 4:3 29 inch consumer Trinitrons again. I do miss that one a lot.

I checked the model number and I have the same one. Some unit!

Being on a bit of a CRT buzz I decided to come back to that particular TV, the sound was very low bit picture was unreal so wanted to sort it. Cleaned out the back with compressed air cans and had it looking pretty clean.

I couldn't really see what the problem for the sound was, so I hooked it up to a set of speakers for the time being and everything was hunky Dorey.

Had a VHS player hooked up to it and had a tape playing in the backround when...boom, she died! :o

I reckon the chassis will have to be sent away so be repaired. Anyone around here be able to help or is grant the only man to send these to?

Mega Games were 2quid from the RAGE the other day. Using one to replace my battered Castlevania case and the other for an Everdrive case with a printed sleeve. Carts will make a decent doorstop.

Grabbed the last 2 euro Mega Games. Mint condition, boxed with manuals. Very good deal. Columns is like cocaine... Also grabbed Stunt Race FX for a tenner.

So my Sony kv29x5 blew up the other night. I have a guy who looks like he can fix it, so hopefully he will come through. If not I'll send it to someone who can fix it

Right on que my backup Panasonic craps out. Kind of a squealing/buzzing sound coming from it and no sound from whats playing on the av port.

So both my house style crts are gone, decided to throw up an advert on my local facebook buy and sell group. A woman messaged me this morning, said she had a big old sony I could take away for free. Picked it up a while ago.......a feckin Sony kv29x5 :D Working perfectly!

Needs a good clean and a freshen up but picture on it is still top notch! came with the remote but im pretty sure thats scrap

So hopefully in a few weeks I'll have a twin Sony kv29x5 setup going

Christ that was bad luck with you TVs! Were they both in a garage/damp room? Seems weird for both to go at once.

The Panasonic was odd, id say it could have been damaged when moved it maybe, it cost me €10 so probably not worth investigating it too much.

The Sony had sound issues and was stored in a cold garage for about a year so it was on the way out for a while I'd say

    Nothing terribly get-tastic here.
I'd hoped to pick up the SFIV TE stick from CEX in Balbriggan but some louser got there first!
I had to console myself with a mediocre selection of PS4 games, Redout, Dungeon 2 and a nifty little shooter called Kromaia Omega.

Sorry for the crap pictures, kitchen was a mess so had to make do with the poorly lit mancave.

Saw this pop up for €155 including PAL copies of Soul Calibur and Sega Rally and had to grab it.

Box is a little beat up and it's missing the handle as most are, along with a second disc and cardboard tray. Going rate for a near complete box seems to be around €300 or so although most of them are in Japan and risky customs wise. I reckon this is the best I'll get without spending €350-400+

Been chasing for one of these on ebay for a fair while but the price can get out of hand on some of them.

Got these 2 records last week. Managed to get the limited edition policenauts.

On a side note I have to get some proper vinyl storage. Something with a lid, has anyone here gotten anything that could suit? I had a look at flight cases but I just want something to protect them really

Not pictured, a fresh Scart for the Dreamcast and a boxed Vibration Pack.

Grabbed this Master System. It was a little pricier than I would have liked but it will be a Christmas gift from herself. There isn't many of them going and a good condition boxed one is practically non existent so pulled the trigger on an unboxed one.

So I dug out my Gameboy Advance SP - after about 10 years it still had some battery life, but I had no charger.
I ordered a charger and played a few of my DMG-01 games onit, but now I've decided that I really want Advance Wars (and lots other on it) so I've just ordered an EZ Flash Omega - it's a lot cheaper than everdrive and should be fine to scratch that particular itch.
I post up some pics as soon as I get it !

You can also stick a NES/Famicom emulator on those things, those games work really well on the GBA.

I have an EZFlashIV cart and use it in my GBMicro. It's especially useful there because while the GBMicro is a nice device, it is GBA only, so if you want to play GB/C games you are out of luck, unless you run one an emulator from the little flash cart, works like a charm!

Got this beast during the week :)

    44400094684_38851d0bc0_c.jpg

Got the cab from Kevin2me and picked up the front cp on UKVAC, will need a fair amount of work to finish off.
Needs a lot of wiring done so will probably convert to Jamma & Mame, not too interested in the JVS stuff.

Could do with a respray as well, still deciding between all black or restore to original colour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,921 ✭✭✭TechnoFreek

Has some of the monitor surround been painted or missing?
Didn't think it was black all around
