Thanks H, peed off but i’ve had a good run injury wise and I think i’ve stopped at the right time for once instead of being my usual pig headed self and ignoring the issue.

Thanks J, trying to be smart about an injury for once in my life. Was the poker ala Casino Royale Friday night?

I'm sorry to read this - given all your training through heat & humidity. Will we have to over to the dark side to read you cycling log?

Sorry to hear about the injury, B - you're in great shape though....rest up and you'll be back at it before you know if you're smart about it.
Lots of good work done that will stand to you when you do get back to it.

Cheers D, I’ve given up chasing Köln, only end up more injured than I already am, Will only hope i’m not out to long.

Really sorry to hear about the injury B, take your time and recover well.

Mind yourself it can be a tricky one. I missed out on Dublin 2016 over my achilles. Think long term and be patient with it.

(Un)fortunately nothing remotely resembling Casino Royale I'm afraid. Nerves of steel required for that stuff! There's a group of us in work that play home games a few times a year - thankfully not too high stakes. I'm on a good run :D

Ah crap B, sorry about the achilles. I feel for you big time!

My own is not too great either at the moment so I may be joining you depending on what the physio advises.

    Speedy recovery.

That's rubbish. Hope you're not out for too long. It sounds like you're getting sensible in your old age!

Just catching up on logs here. So sorry to hear you're out, B. Training was going well and looking good for a fast one but some things are not meant to be. Not yet anyway. Stay sensible and you'll be back before long.

Ah Barry, sorry to read this.

I hope you're doing ok but the right approach.

Feck B haven’t been on boards for a while so sorry to hear about your injury. Having spent the last 6 months doing very slow running as a result of a knee issue I can tell you the strength and conditioning in the gym has been great it’s certainly allowed me focus the mind on something else other than running with a view to building up strength and fitness again. It’s helped the head and I have to say I’m really enjoying it, doing some PT sessions as well. It helps when you’re feeling crap that everyone else is running when you’re not. Speedy recovery hope you’re back soon :)

Just seen this today. Sorry to hear about the injury. That’s gutting when you were training so well. Hope the recovery is relatively quick and straight forward for you.

I feel for you, I am struggling with the same injury since March this year I am going to miss DCM no running for 3 weeks now no plans to run anytime soon

sorry to hear this B, definitely getting sensible in your old age.
Plenty of other marathons to chose from that are within travelling distance for you when you are fully recovered & back running. Speedy recovery & mind yourself.

Sorry to hear that B - sensible decision to prevent a bad situation getting so much worse.
