I've just got back from the pub (in England). I have to admit it was highly entertaining watching 100 odd people going from "we are the best team in the tournament, nobody is going to stop us this year, it's our year" to "Tunisia are cheats, there is a global conspiracy against England. We are the worst team in the tournament." Followed by a sharp about turn back to "we are the best team in the tournament, nobody is going to stop us this year, it's our year" over the course of 94 odd minutes. You'd swear the final was wrapped up rather than a win scraped against Tunisia after the final whistle.

FWIW I thought England played reasonably well, at least as well as anyone else bar Spain, Portugal and Mexico. They'll always have a sniff because they have Harry Kane, but a lack of creativity in midfield and an iffy defence will cost them. Although in saying that about their midfield, Loftus Cheek looks a good player, I haven't seen a lot of him, but he has something about him.

Any of the decent sides will beat England. Would fancy Belgium to beat them in their group game.

Coming 2nd in that group could prove a good thing.

Only caught the second half and thought they were awful, though I heard they were better in the 1st. England always seem to be a confidence team. If they concede a goal they retreat into their shell.

So they are basically Spurs then!

I was happy for them to win. They were the better side and deserved the 3 points although they'll have real problems against better sides. There's a massive lack of a killer instinct in the team with far too much style and no substance. The defenders could have had a cup of tea whilst Rashford danced over the ball and went absolutely nowhere.

But I was glad to see then snatch it. Tunisia were utterly painful and tried to kill the game at every opportunity. Diving, feigning injury, kicking the ball away, refusing to get 10 yards on free kicks etc. Good riddance.

    You take that back.

    We'll win the league.

    Eventually.

Quirky little rule. If all outfield players are off the field of play after a goal is scored, the team that conceded can tip off and play on.

Working in a live office today and just heard a lad say "we need to formulate a plan to discuss our key focus initiatives".

Think I might throw myself out the window.

    I bloody hate biz-speak!
New guy started and he's all reverting back to me and stuff. Spent 2 hours telling me how he could help me and the whole time I'm thinking, well you could help me by sodding off.

I’m a Spurs fan, but no we won’t unless Leavy loosens the purse strings.

A guy that sits near me uses every business cliche term under the sun when he is on the phone to clients. Every day I feel like beating him to death with his phone. I can only imagine that the clients are sitting there thinking "what a wanker".

This is reminds me of every Sales person or Service Manager I've ever had to work with. Project Managers too.

The amount of times I've been in workshops with customers and they start pulling out every single business term they can think of just to make things sound fancier.

    It's a project plan, not a thesis.

He's starting to, Kane's contract was the start of it and I reckon he'll start opening the cheque book a bit more now that stadium is almost finished.

Going forward I think we need to align more closely with core business objectives of the company with a more startup based mindset to help disrupt the market.

Ah they weren't awful. If they were awful in the second half then pretty much everyone else has been as well.

Senegal player was off the pitch "injured" and ran back on as it was passed back. It was a bloody woeful back pass but it is absurd that he was able to run back on into such a key position on the pitch. The centre back hadn't a clue he was there.

He was back on well before the pass back.

Ah here, he slowly sneaks on a few seconds before it while everyone's back is turned. I think Poland are right to feel aggrieved - it is an absurd situation to let a player back on in line with the last defender.

And yes the pass was brutal. But the Polish player had no way of knowing a Senegalese player was suddenly going to be there.
