Good heating tomorrow helping convection with plenty of moisture in the atmosphere and aided by some weak convergence.

Bring it. Would love some nice heavy showers and thunder.
Probably won't get down here though.

Looks like West Mayo is again going to miss out... Very heavy and oppressive out here until a breeze comes, as has been the pattern. West Mayo;offshore island

Is a nice period of summer weather usually followed by a day of heavy rain?

Looks like it....sferic showing up on the ME radar. Looks like a decent little cell.

Looks like you're correct. A single sferic in a small isolated cell that popped up there:

Unusually early in the day for those to pop up. Usually after 4pm when they appear. More to come, hopefully. :)

Could do with the rain here even if we miss out on the thunderstorms in Dublin, bring it on for the sake of my tomatoes and cabbages!

Not necessarily. Warm and settled weather means high pressure is dominating, but it can break down gradually to a slack low, W'ly winds, cooler and more showers, it doesnt have to be a heavy rain event.

The localised thundery being experienced some days currently is due to instability and other factors detailed in the convention thread.

Still rumbling away in Connemara getting closer to Roundstone, not seeing many flashes but it's still very sunny where I am.

EDIT : In fact going by sound I'd say there's a separate part over Carna/Cashel direction

Getting busy to the west of Galway, and moving east, I don't want to go back into work!

Hearing some rumbles of thunder here in West Mayo. There appears to be a developing cell over the Mayo-Galway border.
