Dwyer was in some sort of a "relationship" with his victim though, that was not a random killing

Given the police are now examining a letter Hennessey left in his vehicle for a motive, it may well turn out that there is a prior connection between Hennessey and Jastine.

The detective who shot this piece of scum should have a clear conscience. He has done Irish society a favour

Any word about motives? Did the killer know the victim?

    Motives? He was a psychopath.

Edit, I get your question. Did he perhaps know her from her work in Bray, as opposed to it being random.

Seen a video online of him harrasing young women in the pub

I doubt if the contents of the note will be made public officially although will probably leak to the press somehow.

To be honest I am not even sure if it should be published. Probably just a pathetic attempt by this man to justify his actions.

I'm still confused what action was taken after the initial report of an abduction.

Paul Williams said on the radio earlier that they were checking CCTV among other things and not sitting on thier hands as various people were claiming.

He also said he knows the guy who fired the shots and his account earlier matches closely with was was posted here a few minutes ago. I.e. he was shot while in the car and not charging with a knife.

I'd say the guards get a lot of reports and accusations all the time, and they have to filter out the inaccurate / false ones.

Again, I posted earlier some information I was given by a Garda friend earlier this morning which turned out to be true (confirmed by RTÉ) check my previous posts.

The same Garda told me that Hennessy did know the victim. I have refrained from getting into this out of fear of this being incorrect and disrespectful to the families involved.

Apparently, Hennessy was having an affair with the girl. She broke off the affair and intended to tell his wife. That was the motive

An audio note going around from someone in his family also stated this story. However nothing is confirmed right now

Confirming what a lot of people speculated on the thread, if true.

It's not a justification for his actions, however, if you play with fire, there is a risk of getting burnt.

Well it doesnt make the needless loss of a young girls life any less tragic, but at least the fact that its not just some random indiscriminate murder makes it somewhat easier to come to terms with, it would for me at least if I was family.

For sure. It will be less horrifying if it turns out he had a motive and wasn't some guy who randomly turned psycho.

No excuse for his actions though.

Yes if she knew him and that story is true, it is a horrible way for a young women to end her life but it makes the whole ordeal somehow less vulnerable for her. The thoughts of being dragged up the leadmines with an unknown freak is too much for me to even think about. It's still horrible, she must have been so scared but maybe she was at least able to try reason with him, felt he could be persuaded right to her end and above all, wasn't sexually assaulted.

It's just the reality of the situation - it's not exactly a novel motive. Again I'm not justifying his actions.

Such a totally shocking series of events, well to me anyway.

No problem with him being shot. None. For one thing it has saved us a fortune in free legal aid and endless appeals and personal notoriety.

Very sad for the woman’s parents, so tragic.

I’m sure his family are suffering as well. And no one knows what goes on behind closed doors either.

Bloody hell. Awful turn of events and the poster stating that they had personal details from a gardai but didn't want to share it and yet they come on boards what B.S. and shame on you.

I would hope it's just a poor turn of phrase being used, as in not blaming the girl but saying that there's always a possibility of an affair going sour if it gets out.

This case makes me think of that woman Esra Uyrun who is still missing to this day, her car found in Bray 6/7 years ago, makes you wonder could this guy could be responsible?..

You can be sure that his DNA profile will be run against any open unsolved cases where DNA other than the victim's was recovered. If they get any matches, that ought to know very quickly, maybe by the weekend.

Yes indeed.. I for one feel a whole lot safer tonight knowing that a member of AGS is loose lipped and filling his friends in on classified information from an active crime and then said friend comes onto the world wide web anonymously to release this classified information.
Maybe this poster has a surgeon friend who might let us know what celebrity or Government representative is currently seeking medical treatment.

Honestly I get a bad vibe watching that video how he stands, his posture, his eyes. Somethings off with him

His eyes? You can barely see his fcuking head the thing is so pixellated but you're able to analyse his eyes? Drivel.

I remember about 5 or so years back there was an attempted abduction of a girl up in Shankill at a bus stop(up towards Crinken Glen) again, this is sort of the vicinity Hennessy lived in.

On reading that Jastine knew him and it wasn't a random psycho I was reminded of these lines from The Idiot. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be crude.

“Murder by legal sentence is immeasurably more terrible than murder by brigands. Anyone murdered by brigands, whose throat is cut at night in a wood, or something of that sort, must surely hope to escape till the very last minute. There have been instances when a man has still hoped for escape, running or begging for mercy after his throat was cut. But in the other case all that last hope, which makes dying ten times as easy, is taken away for certain. There is the sentence, and the whole awful torture lies in the fact that there is certainly no escape, and there is no torture in the world more terrible.”
    ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Idiot

All please be aware a girl has died. She has friends and family that may well be reading this. Best to keep speculation to a minimum.

I'm just wondering has there been any word on the wife and his family? Has there been any statements made or has she been interviewed yet? It would be very interesting to know this guy's backstory and his family situation. It would certainly help us to understand what happened and why it happened.

Apparently they discovered the body by downloading journey history info from the car's sat-nav.
