I'm sure they are doing everything they can right now. It will be bright by 5.15am.....there's no suggestion the authorities are not making desperate efforts to locate her.

Indeed. Having hundreds of people scrambling over the local area in the dark is not a good idea.

Oh dear.. hope they find her unharmed.

That carpark won't be in use tomorrow I'd say.

The car he was driving was a 171 model might have had satnav built in they might be able to trace its journeys over the last 72 hours if it had one.

Yeah it's not looking good it has to be said. I feel we are leaving a critical window by which this may have ended on an uplifting note.

well, i would call it a very realistic possibility as opposed to speculation.

That may very well be the case but you are still SPECULATING based on no inside information. Unless you are privy to the investigation anything you say is simply speculation. Don’t know how you can say it’s anything else.

Spent the last week listening to Crime Junkie podcast, I am a little uncomfortable by how riveted I am by all this.

Well it is fascinating, some guy from Ballybrack living in Bray with no history just randomly decides to abduct a girl on her way home. He ends up staying put in his local area and ends up being shot in the head about 5 minutes from where he grew up. It's eerie to think about. I really expect it will turn out they knew each other. It just doesn't make sense.

Have you formed any theories yet?

A guy with the same name as the dead guy posted on Facebook 7 hours ago about an article in the Irish Times "Note the car registration...."

Not to be pedantic but I don't think TheLiberal.ie is the most reliable of sources.

Yeah that's Mark Hennessy of the Irish Times, a fairly prominent journalist...

Based on a friend in common from the area the guy is originally from plus the presence of two kids in profile I'm guessing it's one of the first searches that appears but 'Mark Hennessy' is like your standard Irish name even in a local area(as evidenced by the poster who knows a MH living in Bray who wasn't the assailant)

A well informed comment by an expert who would have handled it better.

What did the Gardai do when the member of the public reported the abduction.
Did they go to where the woman was last seen immediately.
I notice they found her phone at daybreak but this was after her parents reported her missing, was she gone for twelve hours by the time the phone was found.

He had a knife by all accounts.surely the guy who shot him was well trained with fire arms.if they knew it was him and hes armed don't ask questions just shoot him in the legs and keep him alive to get information.
Surely something like that could have been done.

I was wondering that too - Irish times said they went to abduction site at first light, so why didnt they go as soon as it was reported?

No urgency I would say. Wasn't someone whose car tax was out so not a priority.
