The coaching across all the top 6 and league schools is excellent. The gap between top league and big 6 wasn't big (gerrards ran rock close to a 2 point gap which was more than belvo did in the final) gonzaga similar against the other finalist belvo in early round.

All these schools provide excellent coaching s&c as well as video analysis. It helps stand out in a bigger school as you might progress further in cup and get noticed but to make it now you need to be a physical freak.
The spread of schools represented by leinster goes to show if you are good enough you will make it.
    Andrews
    Gonzaga
    Castleknock
    Wesley
    Roscrea
Etc all have players breaking through to pro game
As well as kids coming through youths rugby. Its simply if good enough you will get the opportunity to be seen train/play at a higher level.

    5. Oisin Dowling(1997) - 6'5

we will just have to wait and see.

leinster should offer him a spot.. cant have an academy of just michaels and blackrock players.

And yet they haven’t won a senior cup since 2012

yup they havent.. but we arent talking about that we are talking about their recent run in producing academy players for leinster..

He'd be a good pick up for Connact. Maybe Munster also. Ulster have 3 2nd rows in the academy.
He looks like a really good player too.
    Anyone hear anything on Connors?

Connacht bringing in a 2nd row in Niall Murray afaik.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,585 ✭✭✭irishfan9

So David Ryan and Dan O'Donovan will be in the sub academy next season. Both have a lot of work to do to join their school mates.

Just after promoting 2 second rows to the senior squad so could bring in a second lock. They could wait for a year though as there’s a few u18s who could go straight into the academy this time next year including Niall’s brother Darragh and Iarlaith Laheen-Morrin another

If Daly has no offer, it's pretty simple, go to the JWC and earn one.

Academy is for best players or best available players regardless of where they come from. HeardRyan was ahead of Daly in Leinsters view with regards potential but as said a good world cup can change everything

Agreed on best available players, but IMO Daly is one of them.

Although I am of the opinion that leinster should always take in more academy players than they do..

Charlie Ryan probably does have more physical potential than Daly.. but it's not dis-similar.

Daly I'd rate ahead of Dowling, so that should be enough IMO.

Needs to go to world cup and tear up trees.
