Exactly as passenger runs but not being made fully available until May. It'll be a good few months after that before they hit the showrooms. UK may have them available before us but the op referred to Irish showrooms

I'd say it'll be universally loved the car, the old model was the darling of the motor journos back in 2013/14 and theyve still got a soft spot for it now if you look for info on the Mk8 they talk fondly of the Mk7.

Theres a lot of features on the Mk8 that I'd love but the looks are very subjective, its something I cant really get over but in the right colour I think it will be a good car.

If there is no other wheel options, the first thing I'd do is get another set of alloys for the car. :o

Just on the delivery time, I wonder will the factory shut downs over the summer effect delivery time, dont they usually close for 2 or 3 weeks in July or August and the production line grinds to a halt?

The 18" wheels are optional, 17" standard, possibly something similar to the ST Line wheels. I'm not a huge fan of the 18s yet but maybe they will look better in person. I think the wheels on the MK7 were pretty spot on, they are tough too mine have hit an inevitable few potholes and no leaks/buckles thank god.

There's a whole new model Focus due soon too, i wonder what kind of ST they will come up with for that.

I prefer the Mk7 ST on the outside to this but it is growing on me, I dont like the wheels omn the Mk8 either, I hope theres a different option our style as I think they look a bit off.

I'll 100% agree on the interior though, its shockingly dated across the Focus ST/RS range too IMO.

But the Mk7 ST interior is a pretty bland place to be, driving position is good but thats about it. The interior changes were very much needed compared to its rivals.

Although I'm not 100% sold on the new screen, it looks brilliant when in use, but if it was hidden when not in use it would be a much better look for the car, again, IMO.

I actually like the wheels tbh :)

We'll probably be waiting a good 2 years for a new Focus ST, I'd expect the power of that to stay in and around the same, 250bhp but I wouldnt mind seeing more power in it.

The last model didnt sell in huge numbers either I think people went with or should I say, still choose the GTi over it, which is a fantastic car and if it was my money, I'd take a GTi over a Focus ST, but if they get the interior right and up to date like they have with the Fiesta, it might get people thinking about shiffting to the Focus ST, I've always found GTis pretty bland on the outside but the interior on the Mk7/7.5 compared to the Focus is considerably better.

They do fill the wheel arch better then the Mk7, 17" wheels.

To me, the Mk7 looks very high standard. I fitted 30mm H&R springs and it makes the car look much better, I was toying with the idea of the 50mm H&R springs but with the splitter fitted, it would have caused serious issues with speed bumps. :o

The new Polo GTI will start at €32k here, so you can bet that the top spec one will be into low end GTI money on these shores.

Is it even coming here? I really love the new platform and polo gti was an option in two and a half years to replace mine Seat ibiza cupra. Though if price starts at 32k for basic model, then theu can **** off.

It is, arrives in the next few weeks.

And price is 32k for bare bones? Thats mad considering my cupra was 24k and came with a ton of standard equipment.

So looks like I might go for 1-3 year old Leon cupra and it will actually turn out cheaper.

I sow new fiesta st is going to be available in 4 doors, but I really dont like how it looks. 2 door is a bit better, but not by much. From exterior I prefer old one a lot more.

The 2 door fiesta is much better looking than the 5 door imo.

Fiesta is 3 and 5 door. In some markets 4 door (everything looks better than it).

Unless you were you talking about such beauty, there isn't 2 door Fiesta...

I was talking about the 3 door but I guess that isn't obvious to the pedantic folk.

No, it is not. Especially if you're wrong - about the looks too ;)

Every car looks better if you pump it up with huge alloys and put a tone of CGI reflections on it...

Is the pricing for fiesta st announced in Ireland?

1.5 3 cylinder engine is a bit weird. Looks like ford still chasing small turbo charged engine concept.
The others going for bigger displacement again. Ibiza cupra scrapped 1.4 tsi for 1.8 tsi. Polo gti did same thing and new one will have 2.0.

That 3 cylinder engine supposed to sound really good though?

If the Polo GTi is in and around 32k, I wouldnt be shocked to see the ST, once speced up, in and around 30k, Ford gave serious discounts on the ST2 when I got mine 2016 and between trade in and money off, it around 20k despite having a list price of closer to 27/28k (iirc).

I think the new one will be a bit more expensive, once you add a diff and springs and the likes, it will sky rocket but I'm not sure I'd justify buying the diff, while it would transform the car on a B road or track, I wouldnt ever really get use of either, other than maybe a handful of times a year, it will appeal to others though.

Some people like 3 cylinder units. Not that there is anything wrong with them but I wouldn't be a major fan I prefer 4 cylinder units. I think the 1.5 would be a nicer unit if it was a 4 cylinder but each to their own.

Three cylinders can sound very nice, and like a mini six cylinder (which is a good thing), but to me a hot hatch should be a revvy four cylinder.

I'm sure it will still be a nice car though - after all the old model has a great reputation (I'd really love to drive one sometime).

I'll wait and see. The 1.6l 4 pot was great, and it'd be a major error if the new unit is inferior.

I'm hopeful of a fully loaded Fiesta for sub 30k but nothing holding my breath. :o

The more I see it the more I'm tempted to pull the trigger on one.

I was in chatting to the salesman when mine was getting serviced about tracking down a focus ST. It seems he can't really get his hands on one to might see about pricing on the FiST.

17.5k was what he offered for mine FYI. Its got 4 new tyres and just been serviced with 25k km on the clock for reference.

I was going to sell mine private and would have asked for a but less than that to shift it.

I'm also at nearly 40,000kms though.

I've outstanding finance on mine, considerably less than what it would sell and be cleared for so if the figures are decent, I might go about looking at a 191 ST.

Edit, its a good price too for your car though, meant to say.

It's a great price, I was expecting him to say I'm or around 16 at best! I'd imagine they'd offer the same on yours considering they're the same spec? And extra 15k shouldn't have thar much if an impact. Might give a call about the new fiesta as the class about Focus STs have dried up. All he could find were diesels
