Large pea sized graupel pouring down for the past half an hour in North Kildare, seems to be compacting the snow more than adding to depth but impressive and unusual to watch. Its strange stuff, almost like aero board bubbles when you squeeze them

Wind looks to be shifting at the moment so I'd expect a lull for a while again until a new band of streamers get going, been incessant all morning here so far

    Not here in Arklow
    No snow
    The suns out
Temp above zero and rising rapidly in sunshine despite the uppers at record lows
    Yesterday’s tiny dusting melting
    No hope of streamers here

sorry to hear that, I know well how frustrating it is to be under a shadow. We had very little here up to this morning because of the IOM Shadow. Right now there is about 6cm of snow here which is less than half of what most other parts of Dublin, Kildare and north Wicklow have.

So far this event has been dissapointing here, infact the irony is so far I saw more snow from the north-westerly a few weeks ago with 8cm one night, but I am hoping we will get more later on. The sun has made its appearance here now.

Hopefully your situation will improve with Storm Emma dumping loads of snow.

Is there a chance people are over reporting? Making me a tad jealous that inland leinster have seemingly 8-9 inches already and its only 2 or so inches in south east dublin :'(

Struggling to keep up with all the posts but I haven't seen much reports from the north midlands. I'm in northeast Offaly and it is incessant here. Reckon 8-9 inches lying snow and continuing to fall.

Hard to believe how localised the heavier stuff is.

And over the border in Athlone, sun is shining and no fresh snowfall

Whiteout Dublin 15...Dublin airport closed again in order to clear runways. Dublin is getting a pasting.

The kids are shouting 'just keep snowing' out the window at it... hopefully it stays..

Went from Laos to IFSC this morning to grab a laptop so I can work from home... Just sitting on a train leaving Dublin now... Glad to be on it, I assume even the trains are going to have issues later if it gets much worse even before the main event hits...
Laos to Dublin, that's one hell of a commute, must be about 10,000km :D

Looking for advice on travel tomorrow morning. Would getting from Co. Waterford to South Kilkenny be expected to be similar tomorrow morning, as to this morning? I got into work ok in the car (automatic with rw drive, so I was very nervous), main roads were gritted, and I took it very very handy.

I have 2 outdoor cats in work, and I'm tempted to let them stay in the office overnight, until I get in to feed them and let them back out tomorrow morning. They are inside during the day with me, but sleep under the office at night. I feel awful today at the thoughts of putting them out in the snow this evening.

Swinging around to an easterly now Gonzo it seems. North Co Dublin, Meath & Louth could do quite well this afternoon.
