I am in Limerick city. Woke to about 2 inches of snow this morning at 8am and there was still a flurry of snow.
    Looked hopeful for the day.
The sun has been out for the last while with blue skies and most of the snow has melted.
You can hear all the water running from the melt. This will be a disaster on roads and paths with lower temperatures and freezing.

That was only the starter course for what is yet to come :D

We still haven't really had much snow accumulation in D14. Mostly graupel and a layer of ice..with a bit of powdery light snow

Waiting for the big blizzard bonanza everywhere else seems to be getting !

We were on Orange alert the start of the week when there was no ice or even frost, then as soon as it snows we go to yellow..

What's the south east looking like for today and tomorrow? So sunny here in Waterford now, you'd be fooled into thinking it's all over.

Anyone know if any shops are open around D5?

I know the little bread shop in Raheny is open and I'd assume Supervalu is too.

Feeling nice and smug at home now after having stocked all the presses and the fridge. Haven't said 'told you so' to the family yet, but they know. They know.

What I don't understand is that this was forecast, plenty of warning for businesses. I made the decision that we would operate on the basis that we were closed for Wednesday to Friday and we worked accordingly on Monday and Tuesday and brought home what we could manage to work on. It's a laboratory, we need to be there to work, but common sense some first.

I'm no expert at all but forecasts suggest Waterford will have snow tonight, tomorrow and Friday.

I hope so , I gave the child the day off school to sacrifice him to the storm. I'm being let down here and now I have to try entertain him myself 😆

Donegal finally getting a mention on Met Eireanns warning, if only a yellow. Light snow blowing around in very strong winds.

    ................................ nearly blizzard like. :)

Your road looks much clearer, are buses running there? Our main road is still mostly white, no bus activity

So what's hitting overnight tonight then?
    Continuation of the east one?

I'm a complete stranger to weather predictions, but from windy.com and everything else I've read, yeah tonight is just more of this, but Emma hits with a vengeance Thursday evening... Is that wrong?

Decent snowfall in Cork City , southside anyway , we got about 2 inches here south of Douglas , roads look okay now , but some parks/inclines are going to be dangerous ,saw 2 crashes this morning exiting our park. Seems quite localised though with only 5 miles to north getting little /nothing , but that was fairly appartent on the radar as it skirted along coast , doesnt look like there is anything more showers though in the next couple of hours , temp reading here about -2c.

People are very loose with the word 'Blizzard' in this thread!!

This is NOT blizzard conditions or anything like it! You have several hundred meters of visibility for a start. It also doesn't seem that windy. Come back when you have 15 meters of visibility and have to disable the sound due to wind noise! :D:D

Noted. It was worse but I didn't record all of it. Probably still 30 m of visibility though at the worst.

Sun out in Rochestown, Cork now and thaw setting in. Snow melting away. Not for long I guess though.

And the wife just said to me, "I am glad I shopped yesterday"

Just as well I told her to.....!

Same here, on my own initiative worked my arse off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and got all essential work for the week done.

Think MT should factor in the "Wales shadow" into accumulation estimates from Wicklow. Still nothing for Wicklow Town and not looking likely to change anytime soon.
