Jesus, that's sad. Papers very much hinting at it being self-inflicted as well :(
Whatever horrors and demons this guy was battling, hopefully he's at least found some peace.

I've always wondered about the psychological toll of being a Garda. Numerous factors could potentially make it a lot more difficult than in some other jurisdictions (the low degree of separation between people meaning you very possibly know the individuals involved in your cases personally, and the general lack of justice once people are caught and convicted coming immediately to mind)

If that Detective was one of the two that said they could identify him, then maybe he will.
But if he wasn't, then it won't make any difference.
    Why rightly so?

I dont believe anyone gets a fair trial in the SCC, and look at the evidence.. The whole trial is based on that photo.

Yeah it isn't him. This is Tom Robinson all over again.

Why is it a joke? I think it's perfect for the likes of your friends involved in organised crime who could otherwise intimidate a jury.

It wasn't one of the detectives anyway.

The court has heard Detective Gardai Fergal O’Flaherty and Jonathan Brady identified Mr Hutch in the photo when Gda Michael Ryan showed it to them at Ballymun Garda Station on February 7, 2016. Det Sgt Patrick O’Toole brought the two detectives for the viewing.

The Detective that was found was Detective Fox

Of course you have sympathy in a certain direction if you think "young Patrick " is innocent. What a stupid post.

Suicide is at ab alarming level in the Gardaí at the moment.

Probably because of your defence of people involved in organised crime.

I know its the Sun but if theres any truth behind it it will be interesting to see the Hutches take on the Kinahans with Cyber warfare :-).
I don't think appealing to the hearts of anyone on the Kinahan side will work. Most criminals are motivated by greed and money not morals.
Christy Junior was always a shy retiring lad. From what I knew of him years ago all this crime and violence wouldn't be natural to him.Apart from being a fair bit slower than Daniel he was never going to be the leader in the Cartel.I can imagine him breaking down though under the stress of the Feud.Think that's why the writer of the tweets is appealing to him

If I remember correctly, the Garda picked up either the Kinahan's or associates of the Kinahan's at Dublin Airport and gave them an armed escort to a safe house while they were here to attend the funeral of David Byrne following the Regency Hotel attack.

I don't recall seeing any such VIP treatment for the Monk when he came back to attend the funeral of his brother Eddie Hutch?

One could be forgiven for thinking that even the law of the land are taking sides in this feud.

Armed escort or "lets tail these guys because there could be trouble"?

That would apply to both sides surely?
