Hasn't Sashi drafted fairly well the past two years?

Surely you keep him and fire Hue.

Are you telling me the browns may have made a bad choice? Just who do you think you are

Genuinly surprised at the firing of Sashi. It just doesnt make sense. The only thing I can honestly fault him on is missing out on the Goropalo trade.

I get that he passed om wentz and goff and hasnt the wr corp isnt exactly strong but look at what he took over. He has made 18/19 decent draft picks that will be the cornerstone of the team going forward. He has a pletera of draft picks in next years draft and a war chest for the off season.

Hugh is surely the person who should be taking the heat for this season. Bad play calling, bad clock management, organising an asinine trade for McCarron... the qb whisperer has done nothing to help his rookie qb this year, a player who has shown plenty of potential.

Only the Browns would give up on a 5 year plan after 2 years.

They had a reasonable to good return from his picks thus far without hitting true stars. Presumably this off season was the time to bite the bullet and spend and use picks rather than hoarding. Would be interesting if Sashi vetoed guys like Watson and they lost trust from there.

Is it better to stick with a guy who you agreed a plan until the end, where you could end up in a worse situation, or change things after part of the way when things are ok but you're about to invest a lot of resources?

Probably the right answer is whatever the Browns are not doing.

Also, weird announcing Jackson staying on as it likely limits which GMs will take the role.

    Shazier undergoing spinal stabilisation surgery
Thoughts are with him and hopefully he will be OK to continue playing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,475 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

This likely means he's having a fusion which is the end of his career if so, and unfortunately the least of his worries.

My father has had spinal fusions and chronic pain for years, wouldn't wish it on anyone. Seeing one of the best young players in the game going through this is harrowing, tbh.

Hopefully he'll walk again ,and with the help of the modern technology and top class surgeons, avoid any sever chronic pain.

Holy **** though, I had thought it was reported as a contusion.

Yeah weren't they saying just yesterday that he was extremely lucky and it wasn't as serious as feared and he'd return to full movement very quickly etc.

Horrible news about Shazier. :( Hopefully he makes as much of a recovery as is possible.

Awful news, hopefully he can make a full recovery whether that’s simply being able to live a normal life or get back on the field.

Kind of hoping that the Giants would be in for him.

Must mean Browns were interviewing when Sashi was still in a job.

Very much blaming Sashi Brown as Hue Jackson is confirmed for 2018.

Cant for the life of me understand how a HC who has won just 1 game in nearly 2 years hasnt been fired. Unbelievable

It's weird you laugh for a while but it's weird how I now want the browns to do good, never thought I would say that about another team

This season has been the worst for injuries. So many big names missing massive chunks of the year. The entertainment value has really suffered as a result.

At least Rodgers might be back.

The NFL network have suspended Marshall Faulk, Heath Evans, and Ike Taylor due to them being accused along with former NFL network staff Warren sapp, Eric Davis, and an former NFL network executive of sexual harassment. And Donovan mcnabb has also been included in this.

I'm surprised at some of the names but Heath Evans doesn't suprise me in the slightest. I mean innocent until proven guilty obviously but I'm not surprised. He has this holier than thou attitude.

I wouldn't be reading to much into it tbh at least not until more info comes out

There's a lot of stuff over on reddit about it. Apparently the case was filed months ago. Doesn't look good at all.

    Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/7j87lo/statement_from_nflnetwork_marshall_faulk_ike/?utm_content=comments&utm_medium=hot&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=nfl

    Bloomberg article: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-12/nfl-harassment-suit-alleges-groping-by-top-executive-ex-players
Cantor, a wardrobe stylist at the NFL Network, said Weinberger sent “several nude pictures of himself and sexually explicit texts” and told her she was “put on earth to pleasure me.” He also pressed his crotch against Cantor’s shoulder and asked her to touch it, according to the complaint.

She said she was also sexually harassed by on-air talent. Faulk, who’s an NFL Network analyst, would ask Cantor “deeply personal and invasive questions” about her sex life and fondled her breasts and groped her behind, according to the complaint.

Ike Taylor, also an analyst, sent Cantor “sexually inappropriate” pictures of himself and a video of him masturbating in the shower, according to the filing. Donovan McNabb, a former analyst, also texted her explicit comments, according to the compliant.

Cantor said she complained about the sexual advances from former NFL players to Marc Watts, the league’s talent coordinator, but he did nothing and said, “It’s part of the job when you look the way you do,” according to the complaint. Watts didn’t immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

More stuff elsewhere about Sapp urinating in her office, which made her start working from a hallway, and other stuff that is almost as absurd as it is offensive.

    Deadspin: https://deadspin.com/nfl-network-suspends-marshall-faulk-ike-taylor-heath-1821206708?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
...came into the restroom while Plaintiff was preparing clothes, and urinated in front of her. Plaintiff screamed at him to get out, but Mr. Sapp laughed and told Plaintiff, “Sorry mama, but your office shouldn’t be our ****ter.” Plaintiff complained to the NFL, but nothing was done until Plaintiff told the NFL she would work in the hallway. Mr. Sapp also gave Plaintiff sex toys as a Christmas gifts three years in a row, showed Plaintiff nude pictures of numerous women he claimed to have slept with, and openly talked about his sex life in front of Plaintiff and other NFL employees, including supervisors.

if the NFL have these texts and videos they should be fired on the spot but in another comment someone mentioned that falk allegedly fondled her brests and grabbed her ass instead of saying good morning. If that is the claim that sounds like bollocks.

Either they get fired and potentially brought to court or she's making this up no real middle ground here

I'd say they definitely need to wait to check everything before firing anyone, but to be honest if you've been keeping track of the Harvey Weinstein etc stuff that carry on isn't too shocking (though no less wrong).

I’m not really a fan of the Sunday pregame show (Mariucci and Irwin annoy me and that lone wolf thing and “coming out of the tunnel” are beyond awful) but Faulk and Warner make it watchable so I’ll be interested to see who they replace Faulk with.

I was reading the actual court documents and it lists 1-50 does. So does that mean like John Doe ? So we know the names of six people so does that mean there are still forty four people not named that she is accusing ?

I mean I don't know how many people work at NFL network but that is a lot. There is probably people in Culver City who are nervous. Also reading some of the alleged conversations, how did the accused thing that might think that was okay to say to anyone ?

My heart bleeds for him, poor chap will have to make do with the 2.75 million base salary he's making. Spare a thought for the less fortunate this Christmas, lads.

Have a shot at the playoffs if they run the schedule, personally delighted. Love watching Rodgers play.
